Cowboys starting running back Marion Barber had only one carry for 2 yards in the second half Sunday because his injured left quadriceps tightened up after halftime, Phillips said.
Barber had 10 carries for 39 yards and two catches for 27 yards in the first half before experiencing problems. Barber is expected to play against Kansas City. Phillips said Barber feels better now than he did last week after sitting out the Carolina game.
Phillips said after the game Sunday that he wasn't sure why Barber's playing time was limited in the second half.
"Yeah, I didn't know he had told the coaches during the game that he had tightened up," Phillips said. "We did use him, but it was just on third downs."
