49ers RB Carlos Hyde walks 'gingerly' off practice field due to 'foot issue'
Running back Carlos Hyde warmed up only briefly at Thursday’s practice before a foot issue caused him to walk gingerly off the field as team drills began.
Hyde consulted with lead trainer Jeff Ferguson and strength coach Mark Uyeyama, who then escorted him into the outdoor weight room.
Hyde, the league’s seventh-leading rusher, missed his first practice of the season Wednesday.
Jarryd Hayne has been active ahead of Mike Davis when Reggie Bush is also active, but in the two games that Bush was inactive (and Davis was active), Davis saw 17 touches compared to just two for Hayne. Hayne's role on special teams is the reason he's been active ahead of Davis. If Hyde is out, look for Davis to see the bulk of the carries against Baltimore.
