Bears Beat: Jeremy Langford's workload is 'expected to triple'

Primary backup Jeremy Langford has been sprinkled in the offense over seven games. The 2015 fourth-round pick has played just 73 total snaps; carrying the football 27 times for 80 yards (3.0 yard average) and two touchdowns with two receptions for 31 yards. Langford’s workload is expected to triple in the coming weeks until Matt Forte returns. The Bears claim Langford is talented enough to handle the assignment of being the feature back. Time will if that assessment is accurate. Langford’s longest run of the year is nine yards.

Fantasy Impact:

We currently project Langford for 18 carries in Week 9, but be aware of Antone Smith, who seemingly scored on every other touch while he was a backup in Atlanta. He has gained 518 total yards and seven touchdowns on 44 career touches. Smith should see carries behind Langford and if he is making plays and Langford is not, the tide could turn quickly. The Bears seem committed to giving Langford most of the work, so he's the better waiver add at this point.
