Back spasms had troubled RB Steven Jackson since last Sunday's game, and he didn't practice all week. After doing some stretching and light running, Jackson gave a thumbs-up to observers on the sideline, returned to the locker room and began pulling on his pads.
"We really didn't know if I was going to feel like I could play a whole game," Jackson said after Seattle knocked off the Rams 27-17. "When I went out there, I felt like I could."
But not at full capacity. "We knew that I wasn't going to be a hundred percent," Jackson said. Just in case, coach Steve Spagnuolo moved rookie running back Chris Ogbonnaya to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Saturday.
Jackson "was legitimately hurt throughout the week, not ready to play," Spagnuolo said. "But he's a warrior and a trouper. He said he could do it, so we trusted him. Once he gave the nod, we were good."
