DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Last Sunday night versus the Patriots, A.J. Derby caught just a 2-yard pass before leaving in the third quarter with a sore shoulder. He has been practicing this week and will be fine to play versus the Bengals. In the past three contests, Derby has been held to 4 receptions for 34 yards. Cincinnati’s defense is allowing less than 200 passing yards per game, so the Denver tight end should only be started if you’re out of other options.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New England Patriots

As the Broncos were getting blown out last Sunday at the Eagles, Brock Osweiler looked A.J. Derby’s way three times, resulting in 1 reception for 11 yards. The Denver offense has been pitiful over the four-game losing streak, but Derby has had his moments, registering 14 catches for 183 yards and 2 TDs during the past five contests. New England is dead last against the pass, so the Denver TE remains a sneaky play if you’re out of other options as the bye weeks continue.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

In the loss at Kansas City last Monday, A.J. Derby caught only 2 passes, but 1 of them was a fourth-quarter touchdown that gave the Broncos a momentary bit of life. In the past four contests, Derby has 13 receptions for 172 yards and 2 TDs. While his numbers haven’t been huge, he could again be a sneaky TE option with six teams on bye and the Eagles giving up a lot of yards through the air.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City Chiefs

A.J. Derby led the Broncos with 6 grabs for 66 yards in the shutout defeat by the Chargers, but his costly fumble on the first drive set the tone for the afternoon. He has 11 catches over the last three games and has become the team’s top tight end. The Chiefs have had some trouble against opponents’ tight ends, so Derby makes for a sneaky start on Monday night.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Chargers

With Trevor Siemian throwing for 376 yards last Sunday night in the loss to the Giants, A. J. Derby had just a 10-yard catch. In Week 4, Derby had 4 grabs for 29 yards and a score, but he has only 9 receptions on the season. He should only be started if you’re out of other TE options.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Oakland
After missing last week’s game against the Chiefs due to a concussion, A.J. Derby should be back for Denver in the season finale. However, the Broncos offense has been so bad lately, nobody on the team makes for a promising fantasy start. Derby saw just one target in the loss to the Raiders in November.

DEN TE A.J. Derby - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Kansas City
Last Sunday in the loss to the Patriots, A.J. Derby caught four passes for 35 yards, but suffered a concussion and his status this week is in doubt. Even after Virgil Green went out with his own concussion, the Denver TEs were heavily involved in the passing game, as they combined for seven grabs. Derby caught four passes for 43 yards in the home loss to Kansas City last month, but, even if he's able to go, there has to be a better option during this critical part of your fantasy season.
