JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at N.Y. Jets

Allen Hurns had just 3 receptions for 20 yards last week, but did score for the second consecutive week. He seems like a better red zone option than teammate Marqise Lee, though Lee is going to be targeted more. The Jets have already given up 5 WR touchdowns this season. Hurns is the best bet on Jacksonville's offense of being on the receiving end of a score. He's a WR3 or flex play again this week.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Baltimore Ravens (game in London)

Allen Hurns scored a garbage-time touchdown and finished with 6 catches for 82 yards last week, taking advantage of the extra playing time with Allen Robinson done for the year. The final numbers look good, but he had just one catch when the game was still in question. This is a tough matchup against the Ravens and the Jaguars won't want Blake Bortles throwing the ball any more than 25 times if they can help it. Use Hurns as a low-end No. 3 receiver or flex option.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Tennessee Titans

Allen Hurns had 3 catches for 42 yards last week and stands to be the guy who should benefit the most from the loss of Allen Robinson. Hurns was once a top deep threat but has struggled through injuries. The Jaguars might not throw it a lot, but if they go play-action and try to go deep, Hurns could be the beneficiary. He's a flex play with some upside—and a low floor, as well—in this run-first offense.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Just two years ago, Hurns was a borderline fantasy star, one who posted 1,000 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. Injures wrecked his 2016 season, but he's a solid deep threat capable of taking the top off a defense.

Fantasy Downside

Injuries pretty much destroyed Hurns' 2016 season and he always seems to be nicked up. He played through those types of injuries in the past but wasn't able to last season. Hurns also caught just 35 of his 76 targets, as Blake Bortles struggled mightily last season.

2017 Bottom Line

Hurns' injury issues have carried over into training camp in 2017, and they allowed Marqise Lee to basically surpass him on the depth chart. The Jaguars are intent on running the ball more this season, which actually could benefit Hurns. He's talented, so you shouldn't forget about him on draft day. His current ADP sees him go off the board between rounds 16–19.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Buffalo
With three catches for 22 yards in the past two weeks - including one for nine yards last week - Hurns shouldn't be in your lineup this week. His production has really suffered with Jacksonville's change in offensive coordinators.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit
Hurns was banged up last week, but wound up playing. Perhaps he should have stayed on the sideline. He had just two receptions for 13 yards. Allen Robinson has re-emerged as the top gun in this passing attack and that doesn't always leave a lot of scraps for everyone else. Hurns isn't worth using as anything more than a flex with some upside this week.

JAX WR Allen Hurns - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Houston
Hurns suffered a concussion last week and did not record a catch. He's in the league protocol right now and that makes him iffy to play this week, even if he does return to practice. There can always be last-minute setbacks with concussions. Look elsewhere for help this week.
