PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs Browns

The end is drawing near for Ben Roethlisberger in a Steelers uniform and he recognized that possibility this week. And he's been going out with a whimper, highlighted by the offense just getting dominated by the Chiefs last week. Now they face likely elimination Monday night against the Browns. In Week 8, Big Ben threw for 266 yards and a touchdown. Interestingly enough, the Browns are actually the No. 3 defense against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. The good news is that Roethlisberger has nine total passing touchdowns in three primetime games, including three each in the near comebacks against the Chargers and Vikings. Roethlisberger is his usual QB2 self this week.

Week 16 vs Chiefs

The offense was quiet all day. Ben Roethlisberger essentially has a goose egg with only 148 yards and zero touchdowns. Yet the Steelers still beat the Titans. It only gets tougher as the Steelers try to make a late playoff push as they visit Arrowhead on Sunday. Roethlisberger has not been to Kansas City since 2017. He went 17/25 for252 yards, one touchdown and one interception that day. In fact, this is his first meeting with the Chiefs since 2018. He threw for 452 yards that day. He's obviously not the same QB in 2021 and the Chiefs are clicking on defense again. Roethlisberger is a low QB2 as he has been all season.

Week 15 vs Titans

Ben Roethlisberger nearly led a historic comeback in Week14 against the Vikings, as the Steelers almost overcame a 29-point deficit. In the process, Big Ben threw three touchdown passes and 308 yards, both for just the second time this season. Last year against the Titans, Roethlisberger threw for 268 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. The Steelers desperately need this one, so they'll be doing all they can, so Roethlisberger quietly has upside as a QB2.

Week 14 vs Vikings

Ben Roethlisberger is dealing with pectoral and right shoulder injuries. He did play every snap against the Ravens and had 236 yards and two touchdowns. He was listed as a "did not practice" on the Steelers' estimated practice report for Monday. We'll keep an eye on Tuesday and Wednesday. If he can go, he faces a Vikings team that just made Jared Goff look strong, Which is saying something. Roethlisberger is a QB2 but with some upside on Thursday if he plays.

Week 13 vs Ravens

Ben Roethlisberger is probably very happy to be done with the Bengals. But it doesn't get any easier because the Ravens come to town this week. In 2020, Roethlisberger had games of 266 and 182 yards, three total touchdowns and an interception. And with the Steelers' offense continuing to struggle, Roethlisberger continues to be quite the hit-or-miss option. He's our No. 22 QB this week as Pittsburgh starts to fight for their playoff lives.

Week 12 vs Bengals

Ben Roethlisberger missed the...battle...with the Lions due to COVID, but came back against the Chargers and threw three touchdowns as the Steelers almost pulled off an incredible comeback before the defense allowed Mike Williams to break free for the game-winning score. Big Ben now has two straight games played with multiple touchdowns. This week, he faces the team that is the only one so far this season to allow Ben to throw for 300 yards and that's the Bengals. It's also the only game Roethlisberger threw two interceptions. This is a big one for both teams, so we'll see if the Steelers' offense comes alive. Ben remains a QB2 for this week but has the upside.

PIT QB Ben Roethlisberger - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Lions

Despite the shoulder and hip injuries, Big Ben threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns on Monday night against the Bears. Now he faces the Lions, who had the bye to recover from their thumping at the hands of the Eagles. At the very least, you can expect at least one touchdown pass from Ben. He has done so in every game this season. Especially against one of the worst defenses in Detroit. He's a solid QB2 this week.

Update: Roethlisberger was placed on the reserve/Covid list Saturday and will not play Sunday against the Lions. Mason Rudolph gets the start.
