Scouting report

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Atlanta Falcons

Case Keenum had a strong game last week, throwing for 282 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also added a score on the ground as he continues to be a surprisingly good option in fantasy.

Keenum gets a fairly tough matchup this week against the Falcons. Atlanta has held QBs to no passing touchdowns in three of its last four games, and under 200 yards passing in two of those games. This doesn't mean the Falcons are a lockdown defense, but it certainly isn't promising for Keenum. The Vikings QB should be viewed as a low-end QB1.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions

Case Keenum played well last week, as he has all season, but it wasn't a strong fantasy outing as he only scored 1 touchdown. In his nine games, Keenum has only had three multi-touchdown games, which is pretty low for a quarterback. In fact, he has just as many games with no touchdowns this season.

One of those games he finished with no scores? It was Week 4 when he faced Detroit—the same matchup he gets this week. In that game, e had just 219 yards and completed a season-low 53.3% of his passes.

Keenum has a higher floor than most quarterbacks, but he also has a pretty low ceiling. He's a middle-of-the-road option at QB this week.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Case Keenum had a ridiculous game last week, throwing for 304 yards and a season-high 4 touchdowns. He did throw 2 interceptions, though, and the return of Teddy Bridgewater led to some speculation this week about who would start at QB. But Keenum has the job for now and will face a difficult matchup this week against the Rams.

The Rams have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs this season, giving up just 11 touchdowns while forcing 11 interceptions. Outside of a few performances, Keenum hasn't been that strong of a fantasy quarterback. With a tough game this week he should be viewed as a QB2, at best.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Washington

Case Keenum hasn't been too special for fantasy purposes this season. In his last three games, he's averaged one score while throwing an interception in each. He's had just two multi-touchdown games in seven appearances this season, which leads to low numbers in fantasy.

We expect more of the same from Keenum this week in a middle-of-the-road matchup against Washington. Keenum will likely do enough to make sure he doesn't have an awful game, but if you want a lot of points out of your QB, then look elsewhere.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Browns (game in London)

As expected, Case Keenum struggled last week as he finished with just 188 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Ever since taking over in Week 2, Keenum has been a poor fantasy QB outside of one game against the Bucs. Excluding that game, Keenum hasn't had a multi-touchdown game, and he's barely been above 200 yards passing.

He could turn things around this week in a favorable matchup against the Browns. Cleveland has allowed 14 passing touchdowns this season, tied for second-most in the league. Still, Minnesota is a run-first team and should have success on the ground against Cleveland. Keenum is a mid-tier option this week.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Sam Bradford isn't practicing this week, which means we get another week of Case Keenum. The essential third-string QB hasn't played too poorly this season, but he hasn't done much from a fantasy perspective. His only multi-touchdown game came against a Bucs defense missing half its starters.

We expect low numbers from Keenum again this week in a tough matchup against the Ravens. Baltimore has only allowed one multi-touchdown game to a QB all season and they have held half of their opposing QBs to under 200 yards passing.

Keenum is in the lower tier of quarterbacks this week.

MIN QB Case Keenum - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Green Bay Packers

The quarterback carousel continues in Minnesota as Case Keenum is expected back under center this week. Sam Bradford started last week's game against the Bears, but didn't look healthy enough and was eventually benched. In his absence, Keenum threw for 140 yards with 1 touchdown.

Outside of the game versus a depleted Bucs defense, Keenum hasn't done a lot with his playing time this season. He could struggle again this week in a somewhat difficult matchup against the Packers. Green Bay has only allowed two multi-touchdown games against quarterbacks this season, and have held all passers under 260 yards this season.

Keenum is a middle-of-the-road option at QB this week. He'll be a somewhat safe choice, but unlikely to have a big performance.
