JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Christian Kirk remained a priority piece of the Jaguars offense in Week 5 against the Bills, though he was out-produced by Calvin Ridley. Kirk caught six of his eight targets for 78 yards, marking his fourth straight game with 50 or more receiving yards. He mustered 11.4 Half-PPR points, just a tick over his seasonal average of 11.0. Kirk is the WR25 in fantasy points per game.

The Colts rank 22nd in aFPA allowed to wide receivers this season. Kirk's current workload gives him a safe, if unspectacular, floor in fantasy terms. He's a mid-tier WR2 this week.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo Bills (London)

Since his one-catch outing in Week 1, Christian Kirk has caught 23 of his 30 targets for 248 yards and a touchdown. 12 of those targets came against the Falcons in Week 4, along with eight of the grabs and 84 of the yards. Kirk posted WR21 numbers last week and currently sits at WR28 in Half-PPR points per game.

Kirk looks like the safest Jaguars wide receiver in fantasy right now, and this status should make him a safe higher-end WR2 against the Bills in Week 5. This is despite the Bills ranking second in aFPA to wideouts this season.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Atlanta Falcons (London)

Christian Kirk had his second straight fantasy productive outing in Week 3 against the Texans. Kirk caught four of his six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown on his way to 13.4 Half PPR points, enough for WR24 numbers. Kirk is the WR34 in fantasy points per game after three weeks of the season.

The Jaguars take on the Falcons this week, and the Falcons currently rank third in aFPA to wide receivers in 2023. Kirk's return to something approaching a decent workload should keep him fantasy-relevant in Week 4, but probably as nothing more than a low-end WR2.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Houston Texans

What a difference a week made for Christian Kirk. After barely featuring against the Colts in Week 1, Kirk drew a team-high 14 targets against the Chiefs last week, securing 11 of them for 110 yards. Kirk finished as the WR20 in Half PPR formats, dragging him up to WR42 overall.

The Texans are not a wonderful matchup for wide receivers at present, and the danger of Kirk returning to his part-time role of a fortnight ago is a concern. Kirk projects as a mid-level WR3 this week, assuming the game script favors his side throughout.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Kansas City Chiefs

Christian Kirk was almost an afterthought in the Jaguars passing attack in Week 1, finishing fifth in targets after leading the way in 2022. Kirk saw just three looks which produced a single catch for nine yards on his way for 1.4 Half-PPR points. Kirk finished as the WR96 in Week 1.

The prospect of a shootout between the Jaguars and Chiefs should give Kirk more opportunities to impress, but he still projects to be quite some way down the target totem pole. Kirk projects to be a very low-end WR3 at best this week.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Indianapolis Colts

The Calvin Ridley hype has taken some of the shine off what was a career year for Christian Kirk in 2022. In his first season with the Jaguars, Kirk set career highs with 84 grabs for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns. Kirk averaged 11.3 Half-PPR points per game and finished as a respectable WR14.

Last season, the Colts were 10th in aFPA to wide receivers, so Kirk wouldn't have an easy task this week anyway, with or without Calvin Ridley for target competition. Even so, it's probably safe to class Kirk as a mid-tier WR3 this time out.

JAX WR Christian Kirk - 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Christian Kirk excelled in his first season with the Jaguars and set career highs in receptions, receiving yardage and scoring catches. It certainly helps to have Trevor Lawrence as your quarterback so Kirk certainly could build on his numbers this season. Lawrence may make strides toward joining the list of upper-echelon AFC quarterbacks this season. If so, Kirk's numbers are going to rise again. Kirk had a season-high 117 yards in his Jacksonville debut and had two other 100-yard outings later in the season. Kirk had eight receptions and a season-high nine in back-to-back contests in midseason but later had just five catches (for 43 yards) in a late two-game span. He also had two two-touchdown games -- one against the Indianapolis Colts and the other against the Kansas City Chiefs. Kirk spent his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and never caught more than six scoring passes in a season. He made solid progress in his fourth and final season with Arizona and continued his upward climb last season.

Fantasy Downside
The addition of former Falcons wideout Calvin Ridley could be a limiting factor this season.

2023 Bottom Line
As Fantasy Pros suggested, with Ridley entering the target pecking order in Jacksonville, Kirk profiles as a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 which fits out WR24 ranking.
