KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has entered a pretty even timeshare with Darrel Williams, but he's still getting enough looks to be productive. CEH finished with 17 touches last week (14 carries, 3 receptions) for 82 scrimmage yards. CEH played just three more snaps than Williams in Week 13, but had nine more touches. So while Williams is taking playing time away, CEH is still the main back to start in this Chiefs backfield. CEH should be in line for a good game this week as he draws a favorable matchup vs. the Raiders. Las Vegas has given up the third-most average fantasy points to opposing running backs. He'll be a strong RB2 play in Week 14.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Denver Broncos

Clyde Edwards-Helaire returned to the Chiefs lineup ahead of their bye week and split duties with Darrel Williams. CEH looked good, running 12 times for 63 yards (5.2 ypc) with a touchdown while catching two passes for an additional 13 yards. CEH played on 47% of the offensive snaps while Williams played on 53%, but CEH saw more touches (14) than Williams (4). It's not clear if K.C. will have Williams play that much moving forward, or if the Chiefs just wanted to ease CEH back into things in his first game back from injury. Either way, he still has a solid role in this offense, and he gets a decent matchup this week vs. the Broncos. We like CEH as a solid RB2 play vs. Denver.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been activated this week, ahead of the Chiefs' bye in Week 12. CEH has been out since injuring his knee in Week 5, and Darrel Williams has excelled in his absence. But CEH is talented as well, so the two Chiefs' backs will be splitting touches. Williams has excelled as a receiver, so we'd expect him to see more targets out of the backfield. We project Williams to see more touches overall this week as CEH eases back into things fresh off of IR. CEH should be viewed as an RB3 or flex play in Week 11 against a tough Cowboys defense.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo Bills

For the second week in a row, Clyde Edwards-Helaire hit 100 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown through the air. It's interesting that both of CEH's touchdowns this year have come through the air as the Chiefs don't really involve him in the pass game. CEH has just seven total receptions through four games. While CEH's bump in production lately has been nice, we'd be surprised if it continued in Week 5. CEH draws a tough matchup against the Bills who have allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards to running backs so far this season, while also not giving up a rushing score to the position. He's still an OK play as a low-end RB2 in Week 5 as he should continue to see plenty of touches.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Philadelphia Eagles

Clyde Edwards-Helaire had just his third career game where he hit 100 yards on the ground last week. He did so on 17 carries, which is the third-most he's had in a game in his career. CEH also found the endzone on a short pass, his first touchdown in five regular-season games. We aren't expecting another 100-yard game from CEH, but he's still a good play in Week 4. He draws a favorable matchup against the Eagles, who have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to RBs so far this season. CEH should be a solid RB2 play this week.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Clyde Edwards-Helaire had a very similar game on the ground in Week 2 as he did in Week 1. CEH went 14-43 on the ground in his first game compared to 13-46 in his second. The only difference is CEH was a non-factor in the passing game in Week 2 as he saw 0 targets. CEH also failed to score a touchdown again. CEH has only scored touchdowns in four of his 15 games. You'd expect more from him in this high-powered offense, but the Chiefs have a hard time putting the ball in someone's hand who isn't named Patrick Mahomes, and who can blame them? Having said that, CEH has a chance at a good game this week. He'll face a Chargers defense that's allowed the most rushing yards to opposing running backs through two games this season. With a tough pass defense, there's a chance the Chiefs lean more on CEH this week against the Chargers. We like him as a lower-end RB2 play in Week 3.

KC RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 @ Baltimore Ravens

Clyde Edwards-Helaire was OK in Week 1, finishing with 43 yards on 14 carries. He added 29 yards on three receptions (and three targets). He played on 72% of the offensive snaps, which is just the third time in his career he's played more than 70% of the snaps in a game. Although similar to last year, the lack of touchdowns hurt CEH's performance. He gets an OK matchup in Week 2 against the Ravens. Baltimore allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points to running backs a year ago but got off to a tough start in Week 1 by allowing two scores to Josh Jacobs. Although Baltimore held Jacobs in check outside of the scores, giving up just 34 yards on 10 carries. We're projecting around 90 scrimmage yards for CEH in Week 2, making him a strong RB2 play.
