Scouting report

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 10 vs. Saints
Colin Kaepernick had a "meh" game last week, throwing for just 237 yards and one touchdown while gaining just 14 yards on five rushing attempts. He also was sacked eight times and lost two fumbles. Argue all you want about the final one, but the call is the call. Kaepernick now has fewer than two TD passes in five of nine starts this season. He's going to need to do better than that this week. But the Saints have given up just three passing TDs in three home games. Kaepernick should be OK this week, but there are guys with better matchups.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 9 vs. Rams
Coming off a bye week, Kaepernick and the 49ers should be rested and healthy. Kaepernick threw for 343 and three scores just a few weeks ago in St. Louis when the 49ers had to come from behind to win and should put up solid numbers again if needed. He's a solid start this week.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 7 vs. Broncos
Colin Kaepernick had one of his best games as a pro last week, throwing for 343 yards and three TDs in leading the 49ers from down 14-0 against St. Louis. He added 37 yards rushing. The 49ers can't afford to fall behind in a similar fashion at Denver. But Kaepernick should have to throw the ball enough against the Broncos to be a solid start this week.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 6 vs. Rams
Colin Kaepernick had a ho-hum game last week against Kansas City, throwing for 201 yards and a score and rushing for just 18 yards, his lowest total since Week 1. St. Louis' pass defense has been solid this season in terms of yardage, allowing just 192.3 yards per game. Part of that has been because they have been so easy to run on. Kaepernick might not have a huge passing game, but he could make up for that some with his legs this week.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 5 vs. Chiefs
Colin Kaepernick has been above 200 yards passing in each of his games this season, including 218 last week to go along with a pair of TD passes. Given that he's also running more this season than last - seven carries for 57 yards last week - that's big. Kansas City's pass defense has been OK in terms of yards allowed, but the Chiefs have given up eight TD passes. Kaepernick should be a nice start this week at home.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 4 vs. Eagles
Colin Kaepernick threw for 245 yards and one TD last week against Arizona but gets a much juicier matchup this week in the Eagles, who have already allowed eight touchdown passes this season. Kaepernick also could get tight end Vernon Davis back this week as well, giving him his primary red zone target back. He's a nice solid play this week in all formats.

SF QB Colin Kaepernick - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Colin Kaepernick Week 3 vs. Cardinals
Colin Kaepernick had a four-turnover game last week, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble. But he did throw for 248 yards and a touchdown. He's had some success against Arizona in his career, throwing at least two TD passes in each of his three starts against the Cardinals. It's a tough matchup and he'll be without his favorite red zone target, Vernon Davis, but Kaepernick should still produce enough points to be a low-end fantasy starter this week.
