DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Houston Texans
After missing last Sunday’s loss at Carolina due to a concussion, D’Andre Swift should be ready for the Thursday afternoon contest. The rookie received his first NFL start in Week 10 and is expected to be the Lions featured RB moving forward, as Adrian Peterson was limited to just 18 yards on seven carries against the Panthers. If he’s cleared to play, Swift has a great matchup versus the worst defense in the league against the run.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina Panthers
It appears D’Andre Swift has taken over as the Lions featured back, but a recent concussion diagnosis has put his status for Sunday's game seriously in doubt. In the win over Washington last week, he led the team with 16 rushes for 81 yards and caught five passes for 68 yards and a score. In the past two contests, the rookie has totaled 37 touches for 246 yards, while Adrian Peterson has 16 touches for 73 yards during that span. If he's cleared to play at Carolina Swift will be facing an average run defense, making him an RB2 start.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Washington
In the loss at Minnesota last week, D’Andre Swift led the Lions with 13 carries and 64 yards. Is the changing of the guard at running back finally taking place in Detroit or was it just circumstantial since the team was trailing and the ground game was mostly abandoned? The rookie out-touched Adrian Peterson 16 to 11 and he has a good matchup at home on Sunday against a Washington defense that has the No. 23 run defense. Swift is an RB2 start.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Minnesota Vikings
In the home loss versus the Colts last week, D’Andre Swift had trouble getting going. He carried six times for a grand total of one yard and caught three passes for 22 yards. Indy completely shut down the Lions ground attack as the team totaled 29 yards on the ground. The rookie will continue to share the backfield with Adrian Peterson but has a better matchup against the Vikings No. 19 run defense. Swift makes for an RB2 play on the road.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Indianapolis Colts
After a breakout game in Week 6, Swift posted 27 yards on the ground and 21 receiving yards but ended up scoring his fifth TD. Swift will continue to take backfield opportunities away from Adrian Peterson and is the Detroit RB to own of the two. At home versus a stout Indianapolis D, he is an RB2 play.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Atlanta Falcons
Once again, Adrian Peterson was the Lions starting back in the win over the Jaguars last week, but D’Andre Swift turned in his best performance as a pro. With the help of a 54-yard scamper, the rookie posted 116 yards on the ground and two TDs. Swift carried 14 times after receiving just 12 attempts prior to the contest. He now has four scores in five contests and will likely continue to see more action in the backfield.

DET RB D'Andre Swift - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Jacksonville Jaguars
With Adrian Peterson receiving half of the Lions 22 rush attempts versus the Saints two Sundays ago, D’Andre Swift carried just four times for 22 yards. It wasn’t a complete fantasy disappointment however, as he caught four passes for 30 yards and was in the end zone for the second time as a pro. At least for the foreseeable future, Peterson will likely continue to receive the bulk of the rushes, relegating the rookie to making his mark in the passing game. Even though the Jaguars are allowing over 400 yards per game, Swift is a risky fantasy start.
