LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Tampa Bay

Henderson’s fantasy day was salvaged by a touchdown last week against Seattle, as he finished with seven carries for 28 yards and one touchdown. In what was always a troubling backfield to pinpoint, the last few weeks have seen an increase in touches for rookie Cam Akers which culminated in him leading the backfield in carries last week. With the latter as well as the always plodding Malcolm Brown, Henderson is steadily losing his grip on this backfield. Against a tough Tampa Bay defense in Week, expect low-end RB2 numbers from Henderson.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Seattle

Henderson will be coming back from the bye week as Los Angeles’ leader in touches in a muddled backfield. Henderson’s status was in doubt heading into the bye as he injured his foot against Miami in Week 8, however, he has since been cleared to practice and is wheels up for Week 10.

Henderson has been the Rams most efficient runner; however, fantasy managers are hopeful that his role in the passing game increases moving forward as he has only seen 15 targets to this point. Keep Henderson in your lineups as a solid RB2 this week.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Miami

Henderson once again led the backfield in touches last week against Chicago as he finished with 15 carries for 63 yards and caught both of his targets for 13 yards. Even though Henderson out-touched teammate Malcolm Brown 17 to 10, it was Brown who was able to capitalize and a short-yardage touchdown. It is becoming increasingly clear that Henderson will handle the majority of the carries for Los Angeles, however as we’ve seen before that is subject to change.

Before the Rams head into the bye week, they’ll be facing Miami who ranked 22nd in aFPA to RBs this season, so there is reason for optimism in Henderson’s production this week. With Henderson continuing to see most of the backfield touches, he should remain firmly on the RB2 radar.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Chicago

Henderson once again led the Rams backfield, as he finished Week 6 with 14 carries for 88 yards. No one in the backfield was able to produce anything meaningful, but Henderson still seems to be the guy—for now. In a game where Cam Akers only received one touch, it is getting harder to predict which one of the three RBs is going to be heavily involved. Things will not get any easier as Henderson will take on the Chicago Bears in Week 7. Chicago is ranked eighth in aFPA to RBs, so we do not see Henderson higher than a low-end RB2 in this one.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at San Francisco

Henderson had his highest-scoring game of the season last week as he ran the ball 15 times for 38 yards for one touchdown and caught three of his four targets for 30 yards and another touchdown. Henderson also led the backfield in snaps, but only by a slim margin. Henderson has been the best back in this Rams backfield, but the efficient return of rookie Cam Akers will make this a full-blown RBBC and Sean McVay’s initial “hot hand” stance at the beginning of the season has finally come to fruition. As things stand, Henderson is still the hottest back on this backfield, so at least for his Week 6 matchup against San Francisco, ride him as an RB2.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Washington

After consecutive 100-yard games, Henderson saw his production take a substantial dip as he finished Week 4 against the Giants with eight carries for 21 yards and caught his only reception for 16 yards. He was out-touched by Malcolm Brown in this one, however neither back had a particularly good game. This Rams backfield is getting difficult to predict on a weekly basis and the addition of a healthy Cam Akers muddles the situation even further. Henderson has some appeal as flex with teams on their bye week, but he does not project anything more than an RB3 this week.

LAR RB Darrell Henderson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Buffalo

After touching the ball three times for six yards in Week 1, Henderson’s usage exploded against the Eagles as he finished Week 2 with 12 carries for 81 yards and one touchdown to go along with two receptions for 40 yards. Henderson happened to be the last man standing in this Rams backfield as Cam Akers left the game early with a rib injury and Malcolm Brown played through a finger injury.

With the injuries to this backfield, Henderson should plenty of touches in Week 3, unfortunately that will come against a very stout Buffalo defense. A popular waiver add this week, Henderson should be able to provide viable FLEX/RB2 usage this week.
