DET RB David Montgomery - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Dallas Cowboys

David Montgomery scored his 11th rushing touchdown last week against the Vikings and had a nice day with 69 total yards. He's been getting consistent opportunities -- at least 15 rushing attempts in four of his last five games. Even with Jahmyr Gibbs taking work, there is still plenty left over for Montgomery to be a fine RB2 against the Cowboys and help win a championship this week.

Week 16 at Minnesota Vikings

David Montgomery continues to be a steady presence on the ground for the Lions. He rushed 17 times for 85 yards last week against the Broncos, seeing six more rushing attempts than Jahmyr Gibbs. Of course, Montgomery was also outgained by Gibbs but 85 yards rushing is still very respectable. He faces a tough Minnesota defense this week and while Gibbs provides more PPR value, Montgomery can still be viewed as a reliable RB2/Flex option.

Week 15 vs. Denver Broncos

David Montgomery totaled 85 yards last week against the Bears as both he and Jahmyr Gibbs continued showing they can both be very solid fantasy options. The bad news is Montgomery's touchdown streak came to an end. He has a chance to start another streak against a Broncos team allowing the most rushing yards per game this season. Montgomery remains a strong RB2 heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Week 14 at Chicago Bears

The 18 rushing attempts David Montgomery saw in Week13 were his most since returning from injury and most overall since his 32 in Week 4. Montgomery has now scored in four straight games and all but one in which he has played this season as he reached 10 touchdowns last week. Keep rolling with the steady hand this week as Montgomery faces a Bears team he had 98 total yards against in Week 11.

Week 13 at New Orleans Saints

Another steady performance for David Montgomery in Week 12. 71 yards on 15 rushes and his third straight game with a touchdown. Keep an eye on him this week, injury-wise. He is dealing with a foot injury and was limited to start the week. If he plays, he’s a steady RB2 with RB1 upside.

DET RB David Montgomery - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Green Bay Packers

David Montgomery has had two straight games with 12 rushing attempts since returning from injury. He has also scored a touchdown in both games as well, including the game-winning touchdown Sunday against Chicago. Jahmyr Gibbs missed the first Packers game so Detroit fed Montgomery with 32 rushes for 121 yards and three touchdowns. With Gibbs playing, Montgomery likely won't reach those numbers again, but he should put up solid numbers that should keep him in your fantasy lineups for Week 12.

DET RB David Montgomery - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Chicago Bears

David Montgomery returned from injury last week and saw 12 rushing attempts to get back into game action. He took those carries for 116 yards and a touchdown. The Lions now have a fantastic duo in the backfield and there is plenty of room for both Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs to be excellent fantasy options each week. Montgomery just doesn't get involved in the passing game, but there's still plenty enough here to make him an RB2 option this week.
