MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New England Patriots

The role continues to be great for De'Von Achane in this Dolphins offense as he's put some serious daylight between him and the rest of the backfield. Whereas it was a 1A/1B situation with Raheem Mostert last year, it is not that this year. He has the full workhorse role.

The matchup is great, as New England is 26th aFPA against running backs, and that puts Achane in the RB1 overall conversation again this week. Whether it is on the ground on through the air, Achane should be able to put up fantasy points against the Patriots. Start him confidently.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

I don't think we'll have to worry about Raheem Mostert taking over a larger role in the offense from De'Von Achane anytime soon. Jaylen Wright? Well, time will tell, but for now, Achane is the clear lead back and is still getting targeted heavily in the passing game. His 5 targets last week against the Rams were second on the team and continue a theme where Achane continues to see WR2 targets.

The Dolphins get the Raiders this week and Achane gets a dream matchup as Las Vegas is 29th aFPA against running backs. The matchup is great and the role looks great as Achane continues to dominate the backfield, Achane is a high-end RB1 this week and a must-start.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Los Angeles Rams

Whatever your preseason expectations were for De'Von Achane it feels safe to say he's exceeding them. Achane is the RB1, WR2, and part-time goal-line back this year for the Dolphins and he has one of the best roles in football.

Achane is essentially matchup-proof right now. That said, the Rams are 15th aFPA against running backs so it isn't even a tough matchup. He's a no-brainer, must-start for the foreseeable future.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Buffalo Bills

De'Von Achane was one of the biggest beneficiaries of Tua Tagovailoa's return to the field. He didn't disappoint as he nearly put up 100 yards on the ground and also added 50 yards and a touchdown through the air. Achane is an elite option when the quarterback situation isn't the worst in the league.

The way you beat the Bills is on the ground, so expect heavy doses of Achane and Raheem Mostert this weekend. Buffalo is 25th aFPA against running backs this year, which puts Achane firmly in the RB1 conversation with the matchup and his role.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Arizona Cardinals

Everything that's happened without Tua Tagovailoa just can't be useful moving forward for fantasy purposes. That said, De'Von Achane has to be so excited for the return of Tagovailoa so defenses can actually give him some room to run.

Arizona is 12th aFPA against running backs, but just a few weeks ago Brian Robinson Jr. topped 100 yards and a touchdown so the ceiling can be there for Achane. He's a high-end RB2 this week, but he could easily over-perform projections here.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Indianapolis Colts

The Miami Dolphins offense has completely fallen apart and it certainly didn't help that De'Von Achane left the game before the bye against the Patriots with a concussion, but Achane will be back for this matchup against the Colts.

The matchup against the Colts is solid as they are 24th aFPA against running backs. While Achane doesn't have the ceiling he had earlier in the season, he still can break a big play. He's a middle-of-the-pack RB2 this week, but the matchup is solid and they should go more run-heavy against this beatable Colts rush defense.

MIA RB De'Von Achane - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at New England Patriots

It turns out not even Tyler Huntley is good enough to keep this Dolphins offense afloat and that sank De'Von Achane's fantasy week. To make things more complicated, Raheem Mostert is expected back this week.

New England is 7th aFPA against running backs so far this season, so it's not exactly an easy matchup, and given how things have gone without Tua Tagovailoa, the addition of Mostert back to the rotation is far from ideal. Achane is still an RB2 this week, but the ceiling is lowered with Mostert back and a tough matchup.
