DET RB Jahmyr Gibbs - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 @ San Francisco 49ers
In the first game sans David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs predictably crushed, handling a whopping 28 opportunities for 154 total yards and a touchdown. It was his fourth 20+ fantasy point performance on the season, and his second in a row. He'll now take on a 49ers defense that ranks 25th in RB aFPA and has a very real shot to finish the week as the overall RB1 once again.

DET RB Jahmyr Gibbs - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 @ Chicago Bears
Jahmyr Gibbs will get his first shot at controlling the Lions backfield with David Montgomery out, and it's hard to fathom what the ceiling here could be. The Bears rank a lowly 27th in RB aFPA, and the only thing standing in the way between Gibbs and an overall RB1 performance is some mixture of Craig Reynolds and Sione Vaki. Fire him up everywhere, with a potential RB1 finish incoming.

DET RB Jahmyr Gibbs - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Buffalo Bills
Jahmyr Gibbs is a locked-and-loaded fringe RB1/2 in basically any matchup, and a Bills defense that ranks 23rd in RB aFPA is no different. Sure, he'll continue to split the backfield quite evenly with David Montgomery, but he has the touchdown upside (12 on the year) and passing-game usage (42 targets) to balance out games where he is uncharacteristically inefficient.

DET RB Jahmyr Gibbs - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Green Bay Packers
The Lions have a very good problem with two high-level running backs on their team, but it is a little bit of a nuisance for fantasy. Even if Montgomery were out of the way, Gibbs isn't likely to receive 70%+ of his team's carries, but if it were a lesser teammate, it would certainly be far higher than last year's 40%. Regardless, Gibbs has a good enough floor to be considered an RB1 and will put up gaudy numbers if his teammate misses any time this season.
