PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Jaylen Warren saw a bigger workload in Week 10 which paid off Arthur Smith's confidence in him. While Najee Harris struggled on the ground, Jaylen Warren was efficient on his 14 carries for 66 yards and caught both of his targets for 29 yards. Warren has consistently been more efficient than Harris, and the hope has been he goes from the 1B to the 1A. It seems unlikely a change like that ever happens, but he's making a case for a bigger workload.

The Ravens are 11th aFPA against running backs, and while things will be difficult on the ground for Warren this week, the hope is he sees some extra work through the air. Warren is an RB3/flex option this week and thankfully doesn't need a touchdown to pay off. He'll need a few catches though. I'd feel better starting Warren than Harris this week.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Washington Commanders

While the touches continue to tick up each week, you were certainly hoping for closer to a 50/50 split with Najee Harris when you drafted Jaylen Warren. Instead, you're looking at closer to 60/40 and Harris actually saw more targets last week. If there was one thing you felt good about with Warren, it was probably his role in the passing game, but it has been much more even under Arthur Smith.

The Commanders are 18th aFPA against running backs this year and while the matchup is solid for Warren, his role has been a bit tougher to trust. While Warren is definitely in flex consideration most weeks, he's likely closer to an RB3 this week with the combination of matchups and byes.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs, New York Giants

It hasn't been the best start of the year for Jaylen Warren, but he managed to see more work on the ground and through the air last week in a welcomed change with Russell Wilson under center. Unfortunately, the efficiency wasn't there.

It's an easier matchup this week against the Giants, but they are 16th aFPA against running backs which isn't a smash spot. That said, if more teams were on bye this week I could see using Warren in a pinch, but you likely have someone better available. He's a RB3/Flex type option, but you likely can do better.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs, New York Jets

We'll see what his snap share looks like this week, but it's safe to assume Jaylen Warren will be one of the bigger beneficiaries of the switch to Russell Wilson at quarterback. Wilson threw to running backs at one of the highest rates in the league and Arthur Smith has always had a high rate of passes to the backs.

Whether or not that pays off against a tough Jets defense who are 10th aFPA against running backs remains to be seen. However, the arrow is pointing up for Warren with Wilson under center. I'd likely look elsewhere and hope to see something positive so Warren is viable moving forward.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Las Vegas Raiders

Jaylen Warren is back this week, but it is pretty tough to trust him given how the backfield split was before his injury. Who knows, maybe Arthur Smith has realized Najee Harris isn't going to get it done.

I kid, that isn't happening. Not yet at least.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Los Angeles Chargers

After a worrisome Week 1, Jaylen Warren got more involved in Week 2. He's still not seeing a ton of targets in the passing game, so his ceiling is a bit limited, but getting more involved is a good start for now.

The Chargers are a tough matchup on the ground, and that's made more difficult with RT Troy Fautanu getting ruled out on Saturday. Warren's best chance to hit his ceiling is getting more involved in the passing game and that would require the Steelers falling behind early. Your expectations have likely been tempered after Week 1 and should remain so with Warren without a change at quarterback. Warren is a flex play this week, but his ceiling is considerably lower in a tough matchup.

PIT RB Jaylen Warren - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Denver Broncos

There are disappointing starts to a season and then there is whatever happened last week with Jaylen Warren. Warren was actually doubled up in carries by Cordarrelle Patterson and only saw two targets with Justin Fields starting. Warren likely needs Russell Wilson under center to become fantasy viable again. He's a borderline flex play, at best, with Fields starting again this week.
