Scouting report

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs San Francisco
Jimmy Graham showed some signs of life with three receptions for 42 yards last week, but he is still a long way from where he once was. The targets are alarming, as he as only five in the first two games.

Graham used to be a fantasy stud, but now he is a bench player at best for Week 3. Keep an eye on him, but we are not convinced anything is going to change.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Los Angles
We heard a lot of talk in the preseason about how Seattle and QB Russell Wilson were going to get Jimmy Graham more involved in the offense. It didn't happen in Week 1. Graham was targeted just once, which gave him his one reception for 11 yards. The other tight end, Luke Willson, had four targets in the game who played 78 percent of the snaps. Yes, Graham is still recovering from his injury last year, but the numbers show he is not 100 percent.

Graham's playing time and numbers should increase as he gets healthier, but for Week 2, he should stay on your bench.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 1, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Miami
Jimmy Graham is not even ranked in the top 25 for Week 1 against the Dolphins. The main reason is Pete Carroll's team has not used the tight end very much in the offense and that was the case when Graham played his first season with the Seahawks. We will see early if that changes, but don't gamble that it will happen in Week 1.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Steelers
Jimmy Graham was only targeted three times last week and caught three passes for 39 yards. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 3, so Graham continues to struggle in the Seahawks offense. He will face Pittsburgh, who is 16th in aFPA to tight ends so there is no matchup advantage either way. Graham is still one of the more dangerous tight ends in the NFL, even though he is not putting up numbers like he did in New Orleans. Keep him in your starting lineup as a low-end TE1 for Week 12.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs San Francisco

The targets were strong for Jimmy Graham (8) last week, especially in the red zone. But he still only ended up with three catches for 41 yards -- way under what we expect from Graham on a weekly basis.

The matchup is decent this week, so maybe some of those targets can turn into catches and touchdowns. The Seahawks have made an effort to get the ball to Graham as he has averaged 9 targets over the past four games. He averaged just above 5 the first five games. Start Graham in all leagues and formats as a solid TE1 for Week 11.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Cardinals

Jimmy Graham had his second double-digit target total of the season in the last game which is what you want to see from the Seattle offense. The touchdowns are still not there, only two on the season, but hopefully we are seeing progress with Graham being more involved with the offense.

This is not a great matchup for Graham against Arizona who is 1st in aFPA to tight ends. That knocks him down to a low-end TE1 rating for Week 10. He should still be a starter, but will have a tough time putting up elite numbers.

SEA TE Jimmy Graham - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Dallas

After a great game in Week 6, Jimmy Graham came back down to earth last week with only five targets and two catches. It has been a mystery why the Seahawks have not found a consistent way to get him the ball, considering QB Russell Wilson has struggled in the passing game and red zone.

Graham is still one of the best tight ends in the NFL and we know what he is capable of, but it still has not translated into fantasy numbers. Start Graham as a solid TE1 for Week 8 against Dallas and hope he returns to his Week 6 form.
