Scouting report

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Pittsburgh
Despite scoring 32 points last week, Joe Burrow had his worst fantasy outing of the season throwing for a season-low 148 yards. He has only thrown one touchdown the last two games with two interceptions. The Bengals will find ways to win so this is irrelevant to them as Burrow played pretty much mistake-free against Vegas.

Burrow will face the Steelers for the second time this season. In the first meeting, he threw for only 172 yards, but did throw three touchdown passes. The matchup is favorable as Pittsburgh is ranked 28th in aFPA to quarterbacks.

We expect a hard-hitting, AFC North battle so even with the good matchup, Burrow ranks a low-end QB1 for Week 12.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Las Vegas
Joe Burrow had thrown at least two touchdowns in every game this season until the last one against Cleveland where he threw none. He also had two picks so basically it ended up being his worst game of the season. Not to worry. Bengals had an off week and should have regrouped.

Cincy will face the Raiders who are 19th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It's a good opportunity for Burrow to bounce back against an average Las Vegas pass defense.

Start Burrow as a solid QB1 for Week 11. Expect multiple touchdowns and a 300-yard passing game.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Cleveland
It wasn't a bad performance for Joe Burrow last week, but the Bengals did lose to the Jets. He threw for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns, but did throw his 9th interception of the season and fourth straight game with at least one pick. Burrow continues to be a threat for big games every week.

The second-year QB will face division rival Cleveland who is ranked 30th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Burrow had monster games against the Browns last season throwing for over 700 yards in the two meetings.

Start Burrow as a solid QB1 for Week 9. We expect a lot of points in this game and with a great matchup, he should at least match his output against Cleveland from last season.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at New York Jets

Joe Burrow had season-highs in pass attempts and passing yardage last Sunday, throwing 38 passes for 416 yards. The yardage total was a career-high as well. Burrow has a ton of weapons and although the interceptions are still happening, the rest of the numbers are very good.

Burrow will face the Jets who are ranked 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. The favorable matchup should help him have a good day, even on the road.

Start Burrow Week 8 in New York as QB1. He should have pretty good numbers even if the Bengals decide to run the ball more than usual.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore

Joe Burrow has now thrown multiple touchdowns in every game this season. Last week, he was efficient with 271 passing yards, three TD passes and 1 INT. You could say he hasn't had a 'bad' game yet from a fantasy standpoint. He seems totally recovered from last season's injury.

It will be a tough matchup on the road at Baltimore who is ranked 8th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Burrow struggled in his only meeting with the Ravens last season throwing for 183 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception.

The Bengals offense has played well, but it could be a different story against a defense that just shut down Justin Herbert. Start Burrow with caution for Week 7, but he only ranks a low-end QB1 and there could be a better option available.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Detroit
It was mixed results for Joe Burrow last week as he had season-highs in completions and pass attempts, and he threw for 281 yards, his second-highest total of the season. He also had two touchdowns but threw two picks which seems to be an issue with the former No. 1 pick at times. He now has six on the season.

Burrow will face the Lions on the road this week. Detroit is ranked 10th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Burrow's numbers in 2021 have been much better at home than the road so we aren't expecting a huge day. However, he should have good enough numbers to be ranked a low-end QB1 for Week 6. Start him if he is your No. 1 guy.

CIN QB Joe Burrow - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Green Bay
Joe Burrow looked like the gunslinger we saw at times last season. He completed 78% of his passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns. The better news is zero picks after throwing four interceptions in the previous two weeks. We know the Bengals want to unleash Burrow and this could be the beginning of his full recovery from the injury.

Burrow faces the Packers who are 18th in aFPA to quarterbacks. We are confident Burrow can have games like he did last week but don't forget Jacksonville's defense is not very good.

Burrow ranks a QB2 for Week 5. If he starts being consistent with these types of games, he will move up the rankings, but with a neutral matchup, he should stay on the bench against Green Bay.
