LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Josh Jacobs had one of his worst games of the season last week against the Dolphins, finishing with just 51 yards on 14 carries and a reception in another Las Vegas loss. The Raiders are struggling to move the ball offensively, and if they can’t keep the other team from scoring, game script will be an issue with the usually reliable Jacobs.

This week, Jacobs has a tough matchup against a Chiefs defense that ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing running backs. Game script is really the primary concern in this one, but the Chiefs offense hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire lately. If the Raider can keep it semi-close, Jacobs’ workload should raise his floor, despite the difficult opponent. We have him ranked conservatively as a RB2 this week.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Miami Dolphins

Josh Jacobs continues to churn out fantasy points, despite the struggles of the Las Vegas offense as a whole. He finished last week with 27 carries and a pair of receptions for a total of 127 yards from scrimmage. It was his first game of the year with over 100 yards on the ground, and it’s telling that he has 26 or more touches in each of the games since Aiden O’Connell took over.

This week, Jacobs faces a Miami defense that ranks 18th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Jacobs should continue to be leaned on heavily, with the only risk associated with starting him being a blowout loss to the high-powered Miami offense. Keep Jacobs active as a solid fantasy RB1 this week.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New York Jets

Josh Jacobs had a great game against the Giants last week, gaining 98 yards on 26 carries and scoring two touchdowns in a lopsided victory for the Raiders. Jacobs is still searching for his first 100-yard rushing game this season, but he’s finally back in the end zone with three scores over the last two weeks.

The best way to beat the Jets is to run against them, so expect a busy day from Jacobs. The Jets have been stifling to opposing passers, but they rank 26th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect another 20-plus touches for Jacobs in a low-scoring affair, and for Jacobs to be a quality RB1 once again. Start him.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New York Giants

Josh Jacobs ran for 61 yards and a touchdown in a dismal loss to the Lions on Monday night. He also added a pair of receptions for 27 yards. Jacobs has 28 receptions this year, which has helped salvage some pedestrian rushing numbers, but we need to see him find the end zone more frequently. He has three touchdowns on the year, and the Raiders just cleaned house and switched quarterbacks.

Jacobs has a decent matchup this week against a New York Giants defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect another busy day from Jacobs in what should be a low-scoring affair marred with sacks and turnovers. Start Jacobs as a high-floor RB1 option in what could be an ugly game for both passing games.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Detroit Lions

Josh Jacobs struggled along with the rest of the Las Vegas offense last week in what should’ve been an easy matchup against the Bears. Instead, the Raiders were blown out and forced to abandon the run early, limiting Jacobs to just 11 carries and a reception for a total of 41 yards.

This week, Jacobs has a tough matchup against a Detroit defense that ranks third in aFPA to opposing running backs, although they allowed a touchdown to Gus Edwards last week. The Raiders are a mess, offensively, and coupled with a bad matchup against a likely angry Lions team, this could be a bloodbath. Downgrade Jacobs from his usual RB1 ranking to RB2 status for this week.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Chicago Bears

Josh Jacobs had 25 carries and a pair of receptions for a total of 93 yards from scrimmage in a victory over the Patriots last week. He was held out of the end zone for the first time in three weeks, but his usage was still encouraging for fantasy managers looking for him to get back on track after a tough matchup.

This week, Jacobs has a fantastic matchup against a Chicago defense that ranks 31st in aFPA to opposing running backs. Expect the Raiders to be able to keep this game close in score, which should lead to 20+ touches again for Jacobs. We have him ranked as an elite fantasy option once again, and he should be active in all league formats.

LV RB Josh Jacobs - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. New England Patriots

Josh Jacobs was held to just 3.5 yards per carry against the Packers on Monday night, but he still managed 89 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 25 total touches. Jacobs now has 23 receptions on the season - that’s three more than Christian McCaffrey! If that continues, he’ll be able to supplement his struggles on the ground, and his workload continues to raise his floor each and every week.

Jacobs has a tough matchup this week against a Patriots defense that ranks ninth in aFPA to opposing running backs. Still, Jacobs’ workload and recent exploits in the end zone - two touchdowns in the last two games - and in the passing game make him a high-floor fantasy option and a must-start in all leagues.
