Fantasy Upside
New Head Coach Adam Gase has said this offseason he “definitely” wants to get Kenny Stills more involved. His 16.5 yards per reception is 7th among active players, so there is some deep threat ability here, evidenced by his time in New Orleans too. Stills flashed that big play ability with 5-81-1 against the Jets last year, 3-74 at Buffalo and 2-52-1 against the Cowboys. If Jarvis Landry or DeVante Parker were to be sidelined for any reason as well, Still stock would definitely rise significantly as well.
Fantasy Downside
Stills was only targeted 63 times last year, more than 100 fewer than Jarvis Landry. That is an extreme boom-or-bust scenario considering the low success rate on deep balls. Stills caught only 42.8 percent of his targets. That’s compared to 70.4 for Rishard Matthews (now with Tennessee), 66.7% for Landry, 50.9% for DeVante Parker and 50% for Jordan Cameron. Still has to hope this is an Adam Gase - Eric Decker situation in Miami (like what Gase utilized in Denver) as the potential WR3 and not a more balanced offense like what Gase used in Chicago last season.
Bottom Line
Stills is not being drafted in most leagues, unless they have extremely large rosters. That is the correct decision based on our rankings.
