MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Green Bay Packers

K.J. Osborn fell just shy of a 100-yard game last week. He turned his seven targets into five catches for 95 yards and a score. At WR46 in our rankings, he's a flex option this weekend.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Atlanta Falcons

K.J. Osborn caught eight balls for 99 yards last week against the Packers, and he was targeted a season-high 10 times. In a tough matchup against the Falcons, and with Jaren Hall now at quarterback, we consider Osborn outside of starting territory in most fantasy leagues. You can leave him on waivers in most leagues.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Green Bay Packers

K.J. Osborn has seen 5+ targets in each of the last three weeks. We have him at WR48, which puts him in flex territories for most managers with him on their rosters.

The Packers have allowed six opposing receivers to eclipse 15 PPR Points. The matchup potential is there for Osborn but he'll need to capitalize on somewhat limited volume with other position players taking priority.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. San Francisco 49ers

K.J. Osborn has yet to crack 50 yards this year. We have him ranked at WR32 despite a neutral matchup. In theory, the Vikings should be playing from behind, leading to more passing attempts from Kirk Cousins but the offense doesn't seem to be clicking the way it was to start the year.

Osborn is in the WR3 conversation this week and should at least be on the flex radar moving forward.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Chicago Bears

K.J. Osborn put up his highest output across the board last week against the Chiefs. He put up a line of five receptions for 49 yards on nine targets. Osborn failed to find the end zone, but it was a good sign that he got more involved. He had five total targets in Weeks 3-4.

With Justin Jefferson out for the next month, he'll become the Vikings' WR2. He'll need to step up if the offense is going to be able to function at all. We have him at WR33, making him a solid WR3 or flex start in Week 6.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Green Bay Packers
K.J. Osborn crashed back to Earth after his 16-target outlier performance in Week 15 with only three catches and 17 scoreless yards last week against the Giants. Osborn is seeing a healthy amount of playing time as the Vikings' third wide receiver, but it's difficult to consistently earn a prominent target share working behind All-World target hog Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and even tight end T.J. Hockenson. Osborn is good for an occasional blow-up performance when the Vikings see a negative game script, but he typically hovers around 3-5 targets per game. That is not something you want to bank on as a starting option during fantasy championship week.

MIN WR K.J. Osborn - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. New York Giants
Not normally one to warrant fantasy consideration, K.J. Osborn erupted for a career performance against the Colts in the Vikings' record-setting comeback victory as he matched Justin Jefferson with 16 targets and actually led the team with 157 receiving yards to go along with a touchdown. Osborn has touchdowns in consecutive weeks, but the fact remains that he is an ancillary option in the Vikings offense and well behind Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and T.J. Hockenson for targets on a weekly basis. Osborn had recorded a total of one useable fantasy game before Week 15 in the 2022 season. It was a great showing for Osborn last week, but he is still best left on benches for the fantasy playoffs.
