Scouting report

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at San Francisco 49ers

Kyren Williams continues to dominate the touches in the backfield for the Rams. In an up-tempo game, he had 29 carries and 2 targets, while Blake Corum only had 8 carries. It was nice to see Williams get a couple of targets after not getting any for a few weeks. If we could get it up to 4-5 instead of 1-2 each week that would be massive, but with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua both fully healthy it just isn't in the cards.

The 49ers are vulnerable on the ground as they are 20th aFPA against running backs this year. The role and the matchup align again here and while Williams is a RB2 in the rankings this week (RB13), he's a must-start .

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs Buffalo Bills

While Kyren Williams still didn't see a big week in the passing game, as he caught his only target for 9 yards, he did break 100 yards on the ground and found the end zone again against the Saints. While we'd love to see more work through the air, it's just going to be so tough as long as Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are healthy.

This should probably be another Williams game as the Bills are vulnerable on the ground, checking in at 30th aFPA against running backs. Williams checks in as RB8 on the week and is a must-start this week against the Bills.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Atlanta Falcons

On the plus side, Kyren Williams completely owns the Los Angeles Rams' backfield. On the downside, he hasn't seen a target in two weeks. That's a bit of a worry for Williams' upside as his pass-catching role had been a nice added bonus to his always reliable role as the workhorse carrying the ball.

Thankfully, New Orleans is 31st aFPA against running backs this season. Now, does full control of the backfield offset the lack of targets recently? I don't think so and our projections agree as Williams is RB9 this week after being consistently near the top with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp out. He's a must-start, but just remember his ceiling isn't what it was.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Kyren Williams had been one of the safest options in fantasy, but with the return of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp he's gone from the focus of the offense to the third option. We knew he would see fewer targets, but he didn't even see a single target against the Patriots.

The Eagles are a slightly better matchup against the run, but are still 7th aFPA against running backs. You are still starting him as he's a RB1 this week, but the ceiling isn't as high with Nacua and Kupp both healthy.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at New England Patriots

Any week Kyren Williams is playing, he's a threat to finish as RB1 on the week with his role. While he had a down week against the Dolphins, the matchup against the Patriots should be much easier on the ground. In fact, last week was his second straight week without a touchdown and given the matchup, we'd have to assume that comes to an end this week.

The Patriots are 27th aFPA against running backs this season, so the matchup is fantastic. Like we said, any week he is active he has RB1 overall potential and this matchup puts him in a great spot to do so. Williams is a must-start in your lineups.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins

Kyren Williams was held without a touchdown for the first time all season against the Seahawks. He had been as consistent as it comes finding the end zone, but Seattle found a way to slow Williams down as he had 22 carries for 69 yards and only caught 1 of 3 targets for 26 yards.

It's much easier to run on the Dolphins than pass on them as they are 26th aFPA against running backs this season. Kyren isn't the RB1 overall in projections, but at RB4 he's still close enough. He's an obvious must-start in all formats.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Seattle Seahawks

Kyren Williams was held under 100 yards and without a touchdown on the ground, but as he has been known to do, he had 5 receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown through the air. Williams' role is one of the best in the NFL and his touchdown equity is almost unmatched.

Another solid matchup is ahead for Williams as Seattle ranks 24th aFPA against running backs so far this season. He's a top 3 option at running back this week, just like he is most weeks, and is locked into your starting lineup.
