Scouting report

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins

Kyren Williams was held without a touchdown for the first time all season against the Seahawks. He had been as consistent as it comes finding the end zone, but Seattle found a way to slow Williams down as he had 22 carries for 69 yards and only caught 1 of 3 targets for 26 yards.

It's much easier to run on the Dolphins than pass on them as they are 26th aFPA against running backs this season. Kyren isn't the RB1 overall in projections, but at RB4 he's still close enough. He's an obvious must-start in all formats.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Seattle Seahawks

Kyren Williams was held under 100 yards and without a touchdown on the ground, but as he has been known to do, he had 5 receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown through the air. Williams' role is one of the best in the NFL and his touchdown equity is almost unmatched.

Another solid matchup is ahead for Williams as Seattle ranks 24th aFPA against running backs so far this season. He's a top 3 option at running back this week, just like he is most weeks, and is locked into your starting lineup.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Minnesota Vikings

While the efficiency hasn't been there this year for Kyren Williams, a lot of that can likely be chalked up to the extreme injury situation along the offensive line and wide receiver groups. Matthew Stafford isn't the gunslinger he was in Detroit so teams have been able to focus on Williams. Even so, he's about the safest thing to score a touchdown every week in the league.

The Vikings have been stingy against running back fantasy points this year, 4th aFPA against running backs, but thankfully it looks like Cooper Kupp is returning this week to take some pressure off of Williams as the focal point of the offense. While it is a tough matchup, Williams remains an RB1 with his locked-in role at the goal line and in the passing game.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

While we did see Blake Corum move into the RB2 role before the bye, it didn't really change much for Kyren Williams. He's still the workhorse in this offense and had over 100 yards and a touchdown against the Packers.

His passing workload isn't what it was, especially with no Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua, but the offense could just have struggled without them. The matchup against the Raiders is one of the best in the league as they are 29th aFPA against running backs. Williams is the clear-cut RB1 on the weekend with almost a full point of projection ahead of the RB2.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Green Bay Packers

Injuries along the offensive line and in the wide receiver room haven't been enough to slow Kyren Williams down. Last week was another week with 20+ touches and a touchdown. He's yet to get 20+ touchdowns one week (against Arizona) and has scored at least one touchdown in every game.

Williams is the clear RB1 overall this weekend and is a must-start in all formats. Green Bay is 13th aFPA against running backs, but not even an average matchup is enough to slow Williams down.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Chicago Bears

One thing we can count on with the Rams offense is that Kyren Williams is going to be the focal point and is going to get in the end zone. He's paying off big time for whoever bought the dip after the "he's the punt returner" news cycle. He had 26 of the 28 running back opportunities last week and has relegated Blake Corum to an afterthought. Williams also scored three touchdowns in the Rams' comeback win over the 49ers.

It's much easier to run on the Chicago Bears than it is to pass on them as they rank 29th aFPA against running backs (versus 3rd against WR and 4th against QB) and this should be a beatable matchup for Williams. He has essentially the full workload at running back and with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua out there isn't a dominant receiver to target in the passing game so his pass game work is safe. Williams is RB9 on the week and a safe start.

LAR RB Kyren Williams - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs San Francisco 49ers

If there is one person on the Rams offense you can trust right now, it is Kyren Williams. The role is still as solid as ever and he is one of the few healthy stars from the beginning of the season. Expectations should be tempered given the state of the offense around him, but if there was one Rams offensive player I felt "good" about starting it would be Williams.

The matchup against the 49ers for the Rams is going to be difficult given the injuries, but as long as he's getting the passing-down work and goal-line work he remains a must-start. He's a high-end RB2 this week given the chance the offense could collapse again around him.
