Scouting report

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Washington
Matthew Stafford is coming off one of his best performances of the season last week against the Rams. He threw for 270 yards and four TDs in leading his team back to victory. In the past two weeks, both at home, Matthew has tossed seven touchdowns and no INTs. He has another favorable matchup on Sunday at Ford Field versus a Redskins defense that is No. 15 against the pass. Consider Stafford a high QB1 start.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Los Angeles
In the comeback win over the Eagles last Sunday, Matthew Stafford passed for just 180 yards, but completed 76 percent of his throws with three TDs and no INTs. It was the third time he’s thrown for three scores this season, but in the last two games, Matthew has been held to under 220 yards through the air. This week against the Rams, Stafford faces a Rams defense that is No. 14 against the pass and is battling injuries both on the line and in the secondary. Consider him a low QB1 play.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Philadelphia
What appeared to be a good matchup for Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense last week at Chicago, turned out to be anything but. Detroit did not score an offensive TD, and Stafford threw for a season-low 213 yards with two interceptions. He’ll get a chance to redeem himself at home on Sunday, but will be going against a fresh Philly defense that has only allowed 203 passing yards per game. Stafford makes for a low-end QB1 play this week.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Chicago
After digging a huge hole last Sunday at Green Bay, Matthew Stafford and the Lions battled back to get within one score before falling short. In the pass-happy comeback attempt, Matthew threw for 385 yards – his second 300-yard game of the season – and three TDs. In the first three weeks, he’s averaging 40 pass attempts per contest and has a good matchup against the Bears on Sunday. With the roll he's been on so far, Stafford is a QB1 play.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Green Bay
After throwing for 340 yards against the Colts in Week 1, Matthew Stafford and the Detroit offense found things a little tougher last week in the home loss versus the Titans. Matthew still threw for 260 yards, but completed only 55 percent of his passes, was sacked four times and threw a pick to end the game. Not known as a runner, the Lions QB carried the ball twice for 31 yards, including a 24-yard scamper. Stafford will be facing a Packers team he is very familiar with on Sunday. Green Bay has yielded an average of 277 passing yards, making Stafford a low-end QB1 option.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Tennessee
What an opening week performance Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense put on last week in Indy. Matthew went 31-of-39 for 340 yards, with three TDs and no INTs. He connected with eight different receivers in the win, as Detroit racked up 448 total yards. This week at home, Stafford will be facing a Titans team that allowed 236 passing yards against Shaun Hill and the Vikings. Matthew should have another good outing in Week 2.

DET QB Matthew Stafford - Week 1, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Indianapolis
For the first time in his career, Matthew Stafford will start a season without Calvin Johnson as one of his weapons. Stafford and new WR Marvin Jones have built a good rapport during their short time together, but you just can’t replace Megatron. Matthew also has a nice options in Golden Tate RB Theo Riddick. The Colts were near the bottom in total defense last season and won't be much better in '16, making Stafford a low QB1 play.
