LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at New England Patriots

With both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp healthy, it was a bit surprising to see Nacua double up Kupp's targets last week (14 to 7). However, it looks like Nacua is going to be the 1A to Kupp's 1B in the offense moving forward.

The Patriots are 16th aFPA against receivers this season, so it's a decent matchup for Nacua this week. Whoever gets to avoid Christian Gonzalez more between Nacua and Kupp will likely have the better week. Either way, Nacua is a back-end WR1 this week and a must-start.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins

Well, that wasn't what you were hoping for with Puka Nacua in your lineup last week. Nacua finished with 4 targets for 1 catch and 11 yards, plus one punch and one ejection. Not great.

The Dolphins are 7th aFPA against wide receivers so this is a tough matchup for Nacua, but coming in at WR14 on the week he's still projecting out great. He's a high-end WR2 on the week and a must-start in all formats this week.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Seattle Seahawks

It was a welcomed sight seeing Puka Nacua back out there for the Rams for the first time since Week 1 and he led the team in receiving in his first game back. Unfortunately, he landed on the injury report on Friday and is questionable for the game. Head coach Sean McVay made it sound like he is likely to play.

Assuming we see him suit up, Nacua is in a solid spot as Seattle ranks 22nd aFPA against receivers so far this season. The injury concerns knock him down to a WR2 this week, but assuming he plays he has the upside for over 100 yards just like last week.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Puka Nacua has been activated off IR and is available to play against the Vikings. He's going through pre-game warmups and his role is up in the air. On one hand, we can look back to the situation with Jordan Whittington last week where he was "active," but didn't play. I'm only playing Nacua if I'm desperate and don't have other options.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 @ Detroit Lions

After suffering a knee injury in camp, concerns started to mount around Puka Nacua. However, after logging full practices all week we can put those in the rear-view mirror for now. With the highest total game of the week and a pass funnel defense in Detroit, Nacua makes a no-brainer start as a clear WR1 this week.

We'll see if Nacua is able to improve off one of the best rookie seasons we've ever seen from a wide receiver and he'll be in a great spot to do it against Detroit. Start him with confidence this week.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Coming off one of the greatest rookie wide receiver seasons we've ever seen, the expectations for Puka Nacua are sky-high. He's currently coming off the board inside the top 10 on most platforms as the WR7. Nacua had 158 targets last season and averaged 2.7 yards per route run, both in the top 10 of the league last season. Nacua also had the highest drop %, per SIS, last season at 10.9% so if he's able to cut the drops even a decent amount he looks even better.

Fantasy Downside
Assuming Cooper Kupp is healthier this season, there is the chance he retains his WR1 role out of the slot in this Sean McVay offense. While unlikely, it is still possible. That said, in the 12 games he played with Kupp, Nacua averaged three fewer targets and catches per game than the five games he played without Kupp.

2024 Bottom Line
There's a strong possibility with a healthy Kupp that Nacua isn't able to pay off his WR7 ADP, but still be a top-10 receiver. In that sense, he's a safe pick, but unlikely to have the massive spike weeks needed to win in best ball. However, if Kupp misses any time he could look like a top-3 receiver. He's a buy if he dips below his current ADP of 10.4 on Underdog.

LAR WR Puka Nacua - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Giants

Puka Nacua is having one of the best fantasy performances from a rookie wide receiver in recent memory. In Week 16, he earned 11 targets, converting them into nine catches for 164 yards and one touchdown.

He's just four catches shy of a 100-catch season. It would take a couple of good games but he has the chance to be just the second rookie wide receiver to break 300 PPR Points. He's our WR11 this week and is a must-start.
