MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Houston Texans

Raheem Mostert played a season-low 28% of the offensive snaps in Week 10 before the Dolphins headed for a bye week. Thankfully for fantasy owners he was still productive, rushing eight times for 65 yards and a touchdown, adding 22 yards on four receptions. He also returned three kickoffs for 60 yards. While it was a nice outing, it's disappointing for Mostert managers to see Jeff Wilson take over this backfield following a mid-season trade. But even with Wilson's presence, Mostert should still be viewed as a solid flex option in Week 12 against a Texans defense giving up the most average fantasy points to opposing running backs. Mostert's health will be worth monitoring though as a knee injury has kept him out of practice this week.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Cleveland Browns

Raheem Mostert had gained the lead in this backfield when Chase Edmonds was here, but it looks like he's back to splitting duties with the arrival of Jeff Wilson. The two backs essentially played the same amount (Wilson had one more offensive snap), and they also each had nine carries on the ground. However, Wilson saw three targets compared to Mostert's 0, which is isn't a huge surprise given Mostert's history as not being a strong receiving threat. Wilson's use hurts Mostert a bit moving forward. Assuming Wilson maintains the same usage, Mostert goes from from being a mid-tier RB2 to more of a high-end RB3. He's still a decent play most weeks, and should be good in Week 10 in a favorable matchup vs. the Browns (27th aFPA). Mostert should be viewed as a strong RB3/flex option.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Chicago Bears

Raheem Mostert had an OK outing last week, rushing 14 times for 64 yards while catching his only target for three yards. After the game, Miami's backfield got a shakeup as the Dolphins traded away Chase Edmonds and traded for Jeff Wilson. Wilson arrives as the backup to Miami and reunites with Mike McDaniel. We'll have to wait and see just how Wilson fits in to this Miami offense, but Mostert is still the clear No. 1 back in this offense. And with Wilson just arriving this week, Mostert should see around 15 touches. He draws a favorable matchup against the Bears, who have given up the 8th-most average fantasy points to running backs this year. Mostert should be viewed as a solid RB2 play this week.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Detroit Lions

Raheem Mostert continues to be the lead back in Miami, and he had one of his better games of the season in Week 7. Mostert ran 16 times for 79 yards, and finished 4-30-1 on five targets. Mostert has never been a strong receiving threat, but that's changed in Miami. In fact, Mostert already has 12 receptions this season, which is just four catches short of his career high in a season. Mostert should continue his high level of production in Week 8 as he draws a favorable matchup against the Lions, who have given up the 3rd-most average fantasy points to running backs this season. Mostert should be viewed as a strong RB2 play in Week 8.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Raheem Mostert continued to operate as Miami's lead back last week, carrying the ball a team-high 14 times for 49 yards. He also saw two targets, catching a backwards pass for a one-yard loss. And if you play in return leagues, Mostert even handled a kickoff return for 25 yards. Mostert has now played at least 50% of the offensive snaps in every game but Week 1, which also means he's out-snapped Chase Edmonds in that stretch as well. Mostert will continue to handle the bulk of the load in Week 7 in a favorable matchup against the Steelers. Mostert should be viewed as a strong RB2 play for Week 7.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Despite Chase Edmonds signing the much more lucrative offseason contract with Miami, Raheem Mostert has been the clear RB1 in this backfield. That was on full display in Week 5 as Mostert out-touched Edmonds 19-1. Mostert had a productive day overall, rushing 18 times for 113 yards and a touchdown while catching one of his three targets for nine yards. Over the past two games, Mostert has out-touched Edmonds 36-8. We'd expect Mostert to continue to lead the way in Week 6 in an OK matchup vs. the Vikings. Minnesota's been fairly tough, allowing the 7th-fewest rushing yards to running backs this season. But Mostert should see enough touches to make him a solid RB2 play in Week 6.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at New York Jets

Raheem Mostert out-touched Chase Edmonds for the third consecutive week, but he saw much more volume than normal. Mostert finished with 17 touches (15 attempts, 2 receptions) for 81 scrimmage yards. We also saw a larger disparity in playing time as Mostert played on 72% of the offensive snaps compared to Edmonds who played just 28%. The bad news for Mostert is Miami seems to like Edmonds more in the red zone as he's scored three times in the past two games, and Mostert still has no touchdowns on the year. But if Mostert continues to see the field like he did in Week 4, then he'll be a much more viable fantasy option moving forward. He gets an OK matchup vs. the Jets this week where he should be viewed as an RB3 or flex play.
