Scouting report

PHI TE Richard Rodgers - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Dallas
The Eagles love their tight ends and with the top two out, Richard Rodgers climbs the fantasy rankings. The veteran had eight targets which produced six receptions for 85 yards. Remember, he will get both Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert's targets.

Rodgers faces the Cowboys who are ranked 26th in aFPA to tight ends. We love him in this matchup and should be ranked a TE1 in PPR leagues. In standard leagues, he is probably a high-end TE2, but there is good value in starting him anyway. Start Rodgers in Week 8 against Dallas.

PHI TE Richard Rodgers - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. New York Giants
Richard Rodgers goes from third-string tight end to starting tight end in just a couple weeks. With Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert out now, he will see a lot of targets in an offense that loves throwing to the tight ends. Even before the injuries, Rodgers was getting playing time and has 10 targets over the last four games.

It's a tough matchup on Thursday as the Giants have been good against tight ends, ranked sixth in aFPA to the position. Rodgers is good depth, but only ranks a low-end TE2 for Week 7. If you pick him up, make it strictly for depth as Ertz should be back in the near future.

GB TE Richard Rodgers - Week 11, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Washington
Rodgers got seven targets last week but managed just four receptions for 27 yards. Even against a soft Washington TE defense, which has given up 17 receptions for 185 yards and two scores to the position in the past two weeks, he's not a consistent-enough producer to use in any format.

GB TE Richard Rodgers - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Tennessee
Rodgers exploded last week with six receptions for 64 yards, a so-so day for many but a breakout game for Rodgers. Indianapolis was terrible against opposing tight ends this season and Tennessee isn't much better. The Titans have allowed 28 receptions and three scores to opposing tight ends in the past three games. That's bad, folks. Rodgers could find some holes again this week.

GB TE Richard Rodgers - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Colts
Move along, nothing to see here. Rodgers didn't see a target last week at Atlanta. Even though he'll start again this week against an Indianapolis defense that has allowed four TE touchdowns this season and one in each of the past three games, Rodgers doesn't get the kind of looks to put in your lineup.

GB TE Richard Rodgers - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Atlanta
Rodgers had his typical mediocre production last week of one catch for seven yards, but Atlanta has had issues covering tight ends this season and has given up five TD passes to the position. Rodgers is a TD-dependent player and this could be a week to get one. That said, he's a gamble -- even on a big bye week.

GB TE Richard Rodgers - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Chicago
Rodgers had two catches for 15 yards last week, which is pretty much in tune with what he's done for most of his career. He'll start again this week, so unless you think he's going to score a TD, he's not worth having in your lineup (Chicago has allowed just two TE touchdowns this season).
