Scouting report

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Robby Anderson continues his struggles this season with only one catch on four targets and 15 yards against the Dolphins before the bye last week. While he has a nice matchup against the Falcons this week, it’s hard to recommend starting him in any lineups. Cam Newton’s fantasy upside is tied mostly to his rushing ability, leaving very little hope for the ancillary receiving pieces in the offense. He should stay on waivers.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Miami Dolphins

Robby Anderson had only 30 yards last week against Washington, but he was targeted six times and had five receptions. The targets and the quarterback change make him an interesting stash-option in deeper leagues, but until we see production, he shouldn’t be anywhere near lineups.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Washington Football Team

Robby Anderson caught four of six targets for 37 yards and a touchdown last week against the Cardinals. It was good to see him get in the end zone and he’s worth speculative add in deeper leagues, just in case Cam Newton can be the cure for his lack of production this season. Still, it’s way too risky to have him in your lineup until we see he can produce again. Sit him, but keep an eyebrow raised in his direction.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New England Patriots

Robby Anderson only had one target and failed to catch a pass last week against the Falcons. It was a disappointing game for him after getting tons of targets in the preceding weeks, and a tough hit left him shaken up. Even if he plays, the Panthers have quarterback issues and Anderson has simply not produced this season. He’s droppable in most formats.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Atlanta Falcons

I have no words for the enigma that is Robby Anderson’s stat lines the last four weeks. Anderson has just 13 receptions, 101 yards and a touchdown combined over the last four games. However, he has 38 targets in that same span. That’s sixth in the NFL since Week 4! What is happening?!?!?

This might be a little crazy, but if you’re desperate at wide receiver, there are worst gambles you could make than trotting Anderson out there against a Falcons defense that ranks 26th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. Major risk-reward stuff here, but I have to think Robby’s production will eventually catch up to his targets, despite the Sam Darnold of it all.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Giants

Robby Anderson had 11 targets and caught a touchdown last week, but he had just three catches for 11 yards. While it’s good to see him getting more looks from Sam Darnold, and he has a great matchup against the Giants this week, it’s hard to recommend starting him based on his lack of production this year. We have him ranked outside starting territory and he should be considered a desperation WR3 at best until he starts producing.

CAR WR Robby Anderson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Robby Anderson had seven targets last week against the Eagles, but only caught two of them for 30 yards. He’s been frustrating this season, with really just one play – a 57-yard touchdown back in Week 1 – that has salvaged his fantasy season at all. Until he starts producing, fantasy managers should look elsewhere, regardless of matchup.
