Scouting report

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 @ Washington Commanders
Roschon Johnson is firmly the RB2 on this team after logging zero touches as we headed into Week 3. He has now earned three touchdowns in the last three weeks and operated as the receiving back (6-57 on eight targets) in Week 3+6, which has created a bit of a floor. Due to a lack of bye weeks, he doesn't need to be in roster consideration, but keep him in mind as we move forward.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Roschon Johnson is firmly the RB2 on this team after logging zero touches as we headed into Week 3. He has now earned three touchdowns in the last two weeks and operated as the receiving back (4-32 on five targets) back in Week 3, which has created a bit of a floor. The matchup and Bye Weeks make him a decent desperation Flex or RB3 for needy managers.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Carolina Panthers
With how miserable D'Andre Swift had been, fantasy managers were a little more excited than they needed to be about Roschon Johnson seeing more of the RB rotation in Week 3.
He had another seven carries last week as Swift came to life, and even with Johnson finding the end zone he failed to hit double-digit fantasy points. It's hard to imagine regretting a benching of Johnson in Week 4.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Rams
With how miserable D'Andre Swift has been, fantasy managers are a little more excited than they need to be about Roschon Johnson seeing more of the RB rotation in Week 3. Even if he wins the RB1 job in Chicago, it probably equates to something in the range of the RB30 in fantasy football. Even that might be giving too much credit to a run game that looks stuck in reverse. It's hard to imagine regretting a benching of Johnson in Week 4.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Roschon Johnson's role didn't change much last week despite D'Onta Foreman being inactive. Johnson ran nine times for 37 yards and caught three passes for 16 yards while playing on 46% of the offensive snaps. Johnson isn't a strong red zone presence with only two touchdowns on the year. And he's splitting touches with Khalil Herbert and D'Onta Foreman, and even Justin Fields to an extent. Johnson likely won't see enough touches to be relevant in a tough matchup vs. the Falcons (9th aFPA) this week. He's nothing more than a desperation flex play.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Arizona Cardinals

After playing just 28% of the offensive snaps in Week 14, Roschon Johnson bounced back to lead all the Bears running backs in snap counts in Week 15 by playing on 49% of the snaps. He had a decent game, rushing five times for 36 yards while catching four of his six targets for 24 yards. Johnson at least has a role as among the three backs as a receiving threat, although he's finished with 0 targets in two of his last four games. Johnson also isn't much of a scoring threat with his last touchdown coming back in Week 1. Johnson gets a great matchup this week against the Cardinals (32nd aFPA), but the Bears' trio of running backs is a confusing headache. Johnson isn't much more than a desperation RB3/flex option for Week 16.

CHI RB Roschon Johnson - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

Roschon Johnson had just one touch last week, and played on 28% of the offensive snaps. It looks like D'Onta Foreman has taken over as the starter in Chicago's backfield. Until Johnson sees more playing time, he's best left benched in Week 15.
