NO TE Taysom Hill - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Taysom Hill is an interesting case study year in and year out. We'll ignore the positional eligibility debate and just look at Hill the tight end. We have Hill as the TE13 at the moment. Depending on what you think of Alvin Kamara, that might be a bit high but the upside case here is that Kamara isn't going to stay on the field and Hill becomes the de facto goal line back. It's easy to see a path to a Top 10 finish if that were the case.

Fantasy Downside

The downside here is that Juwan Johnson takes all of the receiving work and Kamara stays healthy. If that happens, Hill is a disastrous pick at any ADP and will be an easy drop candidate.

2024 Bottom Line

The bottom line on Hill is that it's hard to get excited about him. With a ceiling of a back-end TE starter and a floor where he's not on your team by October, he's an easy pass in redraft, barring weird positional eligibility.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Taysom Hill's jack-of-all-trades ability has made him an interesting weekly tight end option. However, he hasn't been doing much lately. After a two-game stretch with 20 combined rushing attempts, Hill has three in the last two weeks. Hill has always been boom-or-bust but his recent stretch may be way too bust to trust for the fantasy championship.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Los Angeles Rams

Perhaps Taysom Hill was still limited with his hand and foot injuries. He scored just 1.5 fantasy points last week despite the Saints' offense performing well overall in their win against the Giants. As has been the case all season, Hill is extremely volatile in fantasy circles. He has plenty of weekly upside but a very low floor. He'll have a couple days to rest before the Saints get right back at it Thursday at the Rams. He's a TE2 for the week but always a risk depending on how the Saints' gameplan and actual game play out.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. New York Giants

Taysom Hill is still battling injuries to his foot and left hand but could return this week after missing Week 14. If he does, with all the other injuries, Hill’s hybrid role could allow him plenty of opportunities on the ground and in the passing game to build up yardage against the Giants and be a sneaky fantasy option. He’s a borderline TE1 against a young but improving Giants defense.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Carolina Panthers

The Saints have been using Taysom Hill more and more lately. The fans were even booing when the Saints weren't using Hill. With Derek Carr likely out, the Saints have a reason to use Hill even more, especially in the red zone. Having Hill still be TE-eligible is huge. It's not quite like having a second quarterback (or even a third in superflex league), but it's pretty close. In fact, this week may almost be like having an extra running back with Hill, who had 75 rushing yards in Week 2 against the Panthers.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Detroit Lions

With all the injuries at wide receiver, the Saints got Taysom Hill involved again with nine touches, including seven rushing attempts. The Saints may have to continue getting creative with Hill, so there is some potential here after he totaled 81 yards last week against the Falcons. Hill will always be boom-or-bust but with some top options out this week, Hill is at least worth considering as a bye-week fill-in.

NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Atlanta Falcons

Coming out of the bye week, you know the deal with Taysom Hill by now. He can either be well-involved in the offense or be very quiet in any given week. But given the state of the tight end position in fantasy, Hill's upside makes him a borderline TE1 option, though the Falcons have been pretty good against opposing tight ends this season.
