NO TE Taysom Hill - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Chicago Bears

Taysom Hill matched his season-high with nine carries and took them for 63 yards last week against the Colts. The Saints seem back to using Hill as a Swiss Army knife. Hill will always be a boom-or-bust play, but with the state of the tight end position, Hill’s usage may be enough to warrant TE1 play going forward.

Week 8 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Taysom Hill saw nine touches last week against the Jaguars and rushed for a touchdown. Hill is very game-script dependent every week, so he won’t always see opportunities like what he saw last week. There’s not a lot of upside here. He’s still a ways away from being fantasy-relevant. But he can still be fun to watch.

Week 7 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Taysom Hill actually caught the football seven times last week against the Texans. But Derek Carr also threw the ball 50 times. Chances are that won't continue. And even if New Orleans throws a good bit, Hill isn't exactly the top target. Even with all the byes, there's not enough here for Hill to even be considered a bye-week fill-in.

Week 5 at New England Patriots

Taysom Hill may potentially break a run or throw a touchdown pass, but his usage is so low, especially with Derek Carr back, that he really can't be trusted in fantasy circles at all. His claim to fame in fantasy now is getting a handful of carries a game and maybe a catch or two.

Week 3 at Green Bay Packers

The Saints had to utilize their Swiss Army knife last week as Taysom Hill saw nine carries against the Panthers and took them for 75 yards. Could the Saints use a three-headed monster of Hill, Kendre Miller and Tony Jones? Perhaps. Does that mean Hill is a must-start in fantasy this week? Not necessarily. But as a deeper TE2? Maybe. Hill remains boom-or-bust but his added rushing value gives him a boost this week.

Week 2 at Carolina Panthers

Maybe the Taysom Hill experiment is starting to be phased out. He carried the ball three times, saw just one target and did not throw the ball. Maybe the Saints are going back to a traditional approach with Derek Carr at quarterback. There’s really no reason at this point to have Hill in your lineups at this point.

Taysom Hill can still be played as a tight end in fantasy but he is back to being listed as a quarterback for the Saints. His usage probably won't change from last season, meaning he'll be all over the place. But he's so boom-or-bust and it's only Week 1. No need to run him out there in your lineups just yet.
