Scouting report

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Houston Texans

Trevor Lawrence registered a nightmare line of 221 passing yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions in Week 14 against the Titans. Lawrence currently has nine passing touchdowns on the season compared to 14 picks and is only managing 5.9 yards per attempt. Needless to say, those are not fantasy-viable numbers. An extremely soft matchup with the Texans' awful defense gives Lawrence the faintest of hopes as a QB2 in deep leagues, but he is probably best left on the bench despite the favorable matchup given his recent play and the general struggles to move the ball in Jacksonville.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tennessee Titans

Trevor Lawrence's meager box score in Week 13 was typical of his 2021 performance. Lawrence registered 145 scoreless passing yards in a game where the Jags were dominated by the Rams. Lawrence is enduring the usual rookie growing pains while being saddled with a horrid supporting cast and poor coaching staff. In fantasy, Lawrence is nothing more than a weekly QB2 in deep leagues. In real life, Jags fans can only hope big changes to the roster and coaching staff unlock Lawrence's potential in 2022.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Trevor Lawrence had another nondescript outing in Week 11 with 158 scoreless passing yards on only 25 attempts. The Jags continue to sputter in just about every way imaginable and even the highly touted rookie cannot escape the misery. Lawrence has failed to throw a touchdown in three consecutive games, has not thrown for multiple touchdowns since Week 1, and is posting a meager 6.0 yards per attempt on the season. Atlanta looks like a nice "Get Right" spot on paper, but Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense simply cannot be trusted to do anything with the ball, even in the best matchups. Lawrence only has fantasy relevance in the deepest of superflex leagues and for forward-thinking dynasty managers.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Trevor Lawrence continued his pedestrian play with 162 scoreless yards in a Week 10 loss to the Colts. Lawrence continues to show an inability to take advantage of positive matchups as a rookie, and the road doesn't get any easier in Week 11 with the 49ers defense in town. The combination of rookie learning curve and a brutal offensive environment in Jacksonville make Lawrence unusable in single-QB leagues and a borderline starter in Superflex formats. Try to find other options if you need another QB to start in Week 11.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Indianapolis Colts
Trevor Lawrence somehow "led" the Jaguars to a shocking upset of the Bills in Week 9 by throwing for 118 scoreless yards in what was a thoroughly ugly football game that finished 9-6. While Lawrence got a real-life win, the game was useless from a fantasy perspective and reiterated the fact that Lawrence is not a fantasy option as a rookie even when things go well. Lawrence hasn't thrown for multiple touchdowns since Week 1 and is only posting 227 passing yards per game through eight games. Week 10 will bring Lawrence's first career game against the Colts, a team whose defense fits firmly in the "mediocre" tier of matchups for fantasy players. While Indy is far from a shy-away matchup, Lawrence's play this season has rendered him nothing more than a low-end QB2 in fantasy who should be on waivers in most leagues.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Buffalo Bills
Trevor Lawrence failed to turn in a QB1 performance against the lowly Seattle defense, meaning his odds of doing so against a stout Buffalo defense this Sunday are exceedingly low. The Jaguars continue to be a disaster plagued by poor play, poor coaching, and an abundance of mental errors that tank drives and extend those of the opponent, thereby limiting Lawrence's rookie opportunity. On the season, Lawrence is averaging a meager 6.4 yards per attempt, completing less than 60% of his passes, and has nine interceptions compared to only eight touchdowns. That combination spells doom against the Bills, who have been one of the best defenses in the league against opposing passers. In short, Lawrence is not a viable fantasy starter in Week 9 and should be on waivers in single-QB leagues.

JAX QB Trevor Lawrence - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks

Trevor Lawrence will emerge from a Week 7 bye and travel to Seattle to take on the Geno Smith-led Seahawks. Seattle used to be a shy away spot for opposing quarterbacks, particularly rookies, but that reputation is no longer warranted as the Seahawks' defense continues to concede massive amounts of offense to teams with any semblance of a passing attack. The Seahawks play soft coverage with below-average corners and struggle to rush the passer, grading out as firmly mediocre at 16th in the league in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs. The absence of Russell Wilson actually hurts Lawrence's fantasy projection as this game now projects to be a slow, defensive affair. Lawrence is a decent QB2 given the soft matchup, but he cannot be trusted as a starter in single QB leagues.
