Scouting report

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. San Diego
Last Monday against the Texans, Trevor Siemian was efficient, throwing the ball just 25 times and completing 14 passes for 157 yards with a TD and no INTs. C.J. Anderson and the ground game were clicking, which allowed Trevor to manage the game from the QB position. Just two weeks ago, he threw a career-high 50 passes for 230 passing yards and a TD against the Chargers, but expect another balanced attack from Denver in the rematch, even with Anderson out. Siemian remains a QB2 play, despite facing a San Diego defense that allows 276 passing yards per contest.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 7, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Houston
Trying to lead his team back last Thursday at San Diego, Trevor Siemian threw a career-high 50 passes. But with a sore shoulder, very few of them went for more than 10 yards. While the offense did next to nothing for the first three quarters, Trevor finished with 230 passing yards and a TD. In the past three games he’s played in, the Denver QB has thrown for six scores without an interception. He’ll be facing a J.J. Watt-less Houston defense at home on Monday night. The Texans allow just 189 passing yards per game however, so Siemian should be considered a QB2 play.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at San Diego
Trevor Siemian missed last Sunday’s game against the Falcons with a sore left shoulder, and the offense struggled with Paxton Lynch at the helm. Even with the short week, it looks like Trevor will be able to start at San Diego. In the past two contests he was able to complete, Siemian averaged 289 yards and two TDs. The Chargers defense yields 291 passing yards per game, but Siemian makes for no more than a QB2 play.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Atlanta
Before injuring his left, non-throwing shoulder in the second quarter last Sunday at Tampa, Trevor Siemian was 5-for-7 for 68 yards with an 11-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas on the first play from scrimmage. Trevor was sacked three times in the win before being replaced by rookie Paxton Lynch. He said after the game that he could have returned to action, if needed, but the Broncos were in control of the contest. Be sure to check the injury report on his status for Sunday, but Coach Gary Kubiak said it would be possible for Siemian to sit out the bulk of the repetitions in practice this week and still be able to play. Even if he’s the starter, the Denver QB should remain a QB2 option.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 4, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Tampa Bay
The Bengals dared Trevor Siemian to beat them last week and he was up to the challenge. The second-year QB torched the Cincy secondary for 312 yards and four TDs. Denver had 35 passes compared to only 23 rushing attempts in the win. Both Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas, who were very vocal the previous week about the struggles of the offense, eclipsed the century mark and caught three of the four scores. The Bucs defense has had trouble stopping opponents’ passing attacks, but Siemian makes for no more than a QB2 play at Tampa on Sunday, even after the big performance.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 3, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cincinnati
The Broncos totaled 400 yards of offense last Sunday against the Colts, with Trevor Siemian finishing 22-33 for 266 yards. Despite completing 68 percent of his passes, mostly on short throws, Trevor has thrown just one TD compared to three INTs in the first two games. A few members of the Denver offense expressed concern about the lack of productivity after the win last week, but don’t expect much to change with Gary Kubiak’s system – especially if the team continues to win. Siemian will have his first road test in Week 3 against a solid Cincinnati D. It’s advised you look elsewhere for your starting QB.

DEN QB Trevor Siemian - Week 2, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 – Trevor Siemian vs. Indianapolis
In his first career regular start last Thursday against the Panthers, Trevor Siemian finished 18-of-26 for 178 yards with a TD on a screen pass and two interceptions. He also ran five times for 20 yards. Trevor underthrew the ball on one of his picks and the other one came as a result of a missed block on a blitz. The game plan called for a lot of short routes, which enabled Siemian to complete 69 percent of his passes in the win. Last week the Colts defense surrendered 385 passing yards to Matthew Stafford, but the Denver QB should be considered no better than a QB2 play.
