MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. New England Patriots

Sure, it was the Raiders, but that was an encouraging performance last week from Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins passing game. It's not a difficult matchup against the Patriots this week, but Christian Gonzalez getting added to the injury report could be incredible for Tagovailoa and the passing game.

The Patriots are 23rd aFPA against quarterbacks and things could be even easier without the aforementioned Gonzalez. Tagovailoa is a back-end QB1 on the week and the lack of a real pass rush from New England should give him time to pick them apart. Start him confidently.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

In what should have been a better game against the Rams, Tua Tagovailoa was accurate, but not explosive or efficient. The Rams had given up big plays all season and Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle weren't able to take advantage. We'll see if it was just shaking some rust off or if this offense is in trouble.

The Raiders are an incredible matchup for opposing quarterbacks as they are 25th aFPA. This should be a big week for Tagovailoa, but we have a few concerns about the efficiency of the offense right now. Still, Tagovailoa is a top-end QB2 this week with appeal in standard leagues and superflex alike.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Los Angeles Rams

After struggling for a lot of his career against the Bills, Tua Tagovailoa had a super-efficient performance last week going 25-for-28 for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Dolphins' offense is fully healthy now and with an easier matchup coming up, should be able to be more explosive.

The Rams are 21st aFPA against quarterbacks this season and we should see a high-scoring game with a total at 48.5 this week. The Dolphins and Tagovailoa should find the sledding easier than against the Bills for explosive plays. Tagovailoa is a QB1 this week and is a start in all formats.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Buffalo Bills

With Tua Tagovailoa back in the lineup and a matchup against Arizona, expectations were high for the Dolphins offense. Unfortunately, things didn't go exactly as planned. Tagovailoa finished 28-for-38 for 234 yards and 1 touchdown in a lackluster return. To cap things off, the Dolphins ended up losing to the Cardinals thanks to a late comeback by Kyler Murray.

Tagovailoa has struggled against the Bills and things likely won't change this week as the Bills are 5th aFPA against quarterbacks. Tagovailoa is a back-end QB2 this week so keeping expectations low is for the best. As is looking elsewhere in standard leagues.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Arizona Cardinals

After weeks of speculation about his future, Tua Tagovailoa returns to the football field for the Dolphins this week. He reportedly got zero medical calls to retire from any of the specialists he saw following another brutal concussion.

The Dolphins offense desperately needs him back and he gets a soft landing spot against the Cardinals. They are 26th aFPA against quarterbacks and have been getting gashed through the air. Tua is a QB1 in his return to the field, but obviously is one hit away from missing significant time again. You should start him confidently and worry about the long-term concerns another day.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Buffalo Bills

With the injury news this week it seems that more will be on Tua Tagovailoa's left arm than original anticipated in this Thursday night matchup. With Raheem Mostert out and De'Von Achane a game-time decision, Tagovailoa will be counted on to lead the offense without one, or two, key pieces.

Tagovailoa led the league in passing last week and the Dolphins showed glimpses of the high-flying offense we saw in the first half of last season. Buffalo will be a tougher test, but Tagovailoa is still a QB1 on the week and should be counted on in all formats.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Coming off a season where he looked immobile and struggled late in the season, Tua Tagovailoa lost some weight this season to back to what we saw in 2022. While rushing will never be Tagovailoa's calling card, his escapability in the pocket should be improved so he isn't a sitting duck back there this season.

With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tagovailoa has one of the best 1-2 tandems at receiver in the league. Add in TE Jonnu Smith and two fantastic running backs in De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert and the offense should be fantastic again in 2024 for Miami. A matchup against Jacksonville with one of the highest totals on the weekend should be great for fantasy production. He's a QB1 this week with more upside than a couple quarterbacks ranked ahead of him thanks to the matchup against the Jaguars.
