MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Tua Tagovailoa had a great game last week as an actual QB, completing 21 of his 24 passes for 224 yards and one touchdown with no turnovers. But it didn't translate to a great fantasy day as the Dolphins mostly relied on their run game with Tyreek Hill inactive. Expect Tagovailoa to have more than 24 pass attempts this week as he faces the Cowboys (14th aFPA) in what could be a high-scoring game between two of the best offenses. Hill is also expected back from him ankle injury, giving Tagovailoa his top weapon back. Tagovailoa can be viewed as a top 10 option at QB in Week 16.

Week 15 vs. New York Jets

Tua Tagovailoa had a good game in real life last week, but it didn't translate to much in fantasy. The Dolphins QB finished with 240 yards, but had no touchdowns and a lost fumble. This was the first time all season Tagovailoa finished without at least one score in a game. Unfortunately, things don't get much easier this week as Tagovailoa faces a brutal Jets defense that's 1st in aFPA to QBs. The Jets' record may not be impressive this season, but their pass defense is. If you have a better option available, this wouldn't be a bad week to bench Tagovailoa. But we wouldn't get too desperate as he's still a top 15 option at the position this week. Tagovailoa threw for 243 yards with one touchdown and three turnovers when he played the Jets earlier this season.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Tennessee Titans

Tua Tagovailoa had an efficient game last week, finishing with 280 yards with two touchdowns an no turnovers. Tagovailoa could have had an ever bigger game, but he finished with a season-low 24 pass attempts because the game was pretty much over by halftime. This week Tagovailoa faces the Titans who are 18th in aFPA to QBs. Tagovailoa should continue to produce at a high level given the decent matchup. He should be viewed as a near top five QB for Week 14.

Week 13 at Washington Commanders

Tua Tagovailoa struggled a bit last week in a tough matchup, throwing for 243 yards with one touchdown and three turnovers. Tagovailoa has struggled with turnovers this season as he's currently 4th in the league in total turnovers (14) this season. He'll look to reverse that trend in Week 13 as he faces a favorable Commanders defense. Washington has given up the most average fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. With Miami's high-powered offense in this matchup, we like Tagovailoa a lot in Week 13. He should be viewed as a top five option at the position.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Jets

Tua Tagovailoa was productive last week, throwing for 325 yards and two touchdowns. But he was uncharacteristically turnover prone as he threw an interception and lost a fumble. Tagovailoa is on pace for a career season as he's averaging 293.4 pass yards per game. He's also just four scores away from tying his career high in passing touchdowns for a single season. As for this week, Tagovailoa draws a tough matchup against a good Jets defense who are 5th in aFPA to QBs. Tagovailoa is still in QB1 range if he's your main QB this week, but if you have a backup option like C.J. Stroud or Kyler Murray then you may look elsewhere given the tough matchup.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Tua Tagovailoa had one of his poorer games in Week 9 before the Dolphins had their bye week. He threw for a season-low 193 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. While it wasn't a great outing, that's an incredible floor for Tagovailoa's worst game of the year. He faced a good Chiefs defense, so it's not too surprising he didn't light up the scoreboard. This week, Tagovailoa gets another good defense as the Raiders are 9th in aFPA to QBs. Despite the matchup, Tagovailoa should be still be viewed as a near top five option at QB in Week 11.

MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Kansas City Chiefs

Tua Tagovailoa had another strong outing last week, finishing with 324 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Tagovailoa leads the NFL in pass yards (302 ypg) and is tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns (18). In fantasy he's QB5 due to his lack of rush yards, but he's still an elite option each week. In Week 9 he draws a tough matchup against the Chiefs (2nd aFPA), but he should still be viewed as a top five option at QB. The Chiefs have a good defense, but with both of these high-powered offenses, there's a chance it turns into a high-scoring game.
