Scouting report

GB RB Ty Montgomery - Week 19, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round at Dallas
Ty Montgomery got 11 carries for 27 yards and three receptions for 41 last week against the Giants, and will continue to get the bulk of the work out of the backfield for the Packers. He wasn't a full-time running back when these two teams met earlier this season, getting just three carries for six yards, but he did have 10 receptions for 98 yards in that game. With Jordy Nelson likely out this week, the Packers might have to go to more of a short passing game, which would benefit Montgomery greatly. He should be a solid contributor this week as a No. 2 RB play or high-end flex option.

GB RB Ty Montgomery - Week 18, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wild Card Round vs. New York Giants
Montgomery got eight carries for 44 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards but got a little nicked up last week against the Lions. He's gotten at least eight carries in each of the past four games, so he's not necessarily going to be a high-volume play, but his pass-catching ability makes him more attractive in PPR leagues. He did give way to Aaron Ripkowski a little more than you'd like, but even though Ripkowski had nine carries for 61 yards last week, Montgomery is the more attractive play thanks to his multiple usage. He should get enough work in this game to be a No. 2 back, especially in PPR leagues.

GB RB Ty Montgomery - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Detroit
Montgomery managed just 23 yards on nine carries last week in Minnesota, adding four receptions for 17 yards. But, his carries were more than Christine Michael's four carries, so there's that. Detroit allowed just one rushing touchdown in the first half of this season but has given up four in the past five games. Given his versatility, Montgomery is going to get 15 or so touches in a variety of ways in this game. He should be useful as a No. 2 RB option or No. 3 WR option thanks to his position flexibility.

GB RB Ty Montgomery - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Minnesota
It's finally time to consider Montgomery the Packers' lead running back after he had 16 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He had just two receptions for one yard, but with the weather turning, the Packers need somebody to lean on in the running game. The Vikings just allowed 153 yards and two rushing touchdowns to Indianapolis' running backs, so there could be some opportunities for Mongtomery. If not, he could chip in as a pass catcher as well. He's a decent start as a No. 2 back.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Chicago
With nine carries for 41 yards and a touchdown to go along with three receptions fro 45 yards, Montgomery is the defacto Green Bay running game. That's going to continue. He had season-highs with nine carries for 60 yards to go along with 10 receptions for a season-high 98 yards in the first matchup with the Bears. proving to be a handful for Chicago's defense to handle. Montgomery hasn't been as big a factor in the passing game since, which hurts his value. But don't forget about him as a low-end No. 3 option at WR.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 14, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Seattle
Montgomery had just two catches for 16 yards last week but also had 40 yards rushing on six carries. He'll continue to see time in the backfield with both James Starks and Christine Michael struggling. And he's probably the most valuable among the three thanks to his dual position flexibility. But he's just that, a flex play.

GB WR Ty Montgomery - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Philadelphia
Montgomery is doing just enough now to hurt the production of both Randall Cobb and James Starks. That meant three catches for 27 yards and four carries for 17 yards last week. But it's not enough to make him useful in fantasy play.
