Fantasy Upside
After two seasons of little relevance, Tyler Boyd had a breakout season in 2018. He caught 76 passes for 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns. Like a lot of receivers, Boyd figured out his third season and became one of the more effective slot receivers in the NFL.
Fantasy Downside
Part of the reason for Boyd’s success was A.J. Green missing six games. He was targeted 108 times which is one reason for the strong numbers. However, those numbers could regress if Green is healthy. Boyd will still be the Bengals No. 2 receiver, but it will be hard to reach those numbers from 2018.
2019 Bottom Line
Boyd proved he can get it done and will still see many targets, but his numbers won’t reach last year’s levels, mainly because of Green’s return. His ADP is 70 right now, but he should be taken earlier as he ranks a high-end WR3. A sixth-round pick will net you Boyd and get you about 70 catches for 840 yards and seven touchdowns. UPDATE: With AJ Green out 6 to 8 weeks, Boyd's stock goes up slightly, depending if Green will miss regular season games.
