Scouting report

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Pittsburgh

Tyler Boyd was actually the most targeted player for the Bengals last week, but the Cincy passing game was quiet overall. He ended up with six receptions for 49 yards - both team highs. Boyd still is the third option going into the game, but this outing shows he can sometimes exceed that ranking.

Boyd faces his hometown team the Steelers who are ranked 28th in aFPA to wide receivers. In the first meeting, he had four receptions for 36 yards and his first-ever touchdown at Heinz Field as a pro.

Start Boyd as a WR3 or flex. He should get you enough fantasy stats with the matchup to be an asset for Week 12.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Cleveland
Tyler Boyd had eight targets last week, the most since Week 4. He ended up with five receptions for 69 yards and his second touchdown of 2021. Boyd has clearly been the No. 3 option in the Bengals passing game, but Cincy throws the ball enough that he is getting enough looks that make him fantasy helpful.

Boyd faces the Browns who he's always played well against during his career. Cleveland is ranked 13th in aFPA to wide receivers so it's a neutral matchup. But Boyd will be in the mix.

Start Boyd as a WR3 or flex. That's where he has been most of the season and will be unless something happens to Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at New York Jets
Tyler Boyd has clearly become the No. 3 receiver as rookie WR Ja'Marr Chase rocks the NFL. Boyd still had seven targets in Week 7 and caught four passes for 39 yards but unfortunately, that has been the norm this season.

It's a tough matchup for the wide receivers vs. the Jets. Keep Boyd on the bench for Week 8. He still provides depth but is not getting good enough fantasy numbers to be in the lineup.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Baltimore
Tyler Boyd had a quiet game last week with only one catch for seven yards. He has been quiet since his 100+ receiving yards game back in Week 4 against Jacksonville. He is the veteran presence on this Bengals team, but it seems QB Joe Burrow has leaned more on the young receivers. He is getting his shares of snaps but targets have been down since Tee Higgins returned.

Tough matchup in Baltimore for Boyd who has not had much success against the Ravens during his career. Start Boyd as a borderline WR3 or flex, but there could be a better option on your bench or even the waiver wire.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Detroit
With Tee Higgins back in the lineup, Tyler Boyd's numbers slipped back to early-season levels. He had four receptions but for only 24 yards which were a season-low. It seems Boyd is capable of having 100-yard games like he did last week but he also appears to be third in the pecking order for QB Joe Burrow's targets.

Boyd faces a tough Detroit pass defense that is ranked 7th in aFPA to wide receivers. He will still get his share of action that will be enough to rank him as a WR3 or Flex for Week 6. He has fantasy value so start him on Sunday.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Green Bay
Tyler Boyd had a season-high 11 targets which were also a team-high last Thursday. He had nine catches for 118 yards, but before you get too excited, WR Tee Higgins comes back this week from injury so the targets will get split more to the three main receivers.

The Bengals face the Packers who are ranked 14th in aFPA to wide receivers. The neutral matchup doesn't give Cincy any type of advantage, but Boyd should still be in the mix. Don't expect numbers like has last week, but he should start for you in Week 5 as a WR3 or Flex.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Jacksonville
With Tee Higgins out, Tyler Boyd's stock rose in Week 3. He caught four passes for 36 yards but scored his first TD ever at Heinz Field. With Higgins not practicing on Tuesday and the short week, expect Boyd to be the second option behind rookie Ja'Marr Chase.

The Jaguars' pass defense has been good so far ranked 8th in aFPA to wide receivers. Boyd won't put up great numbers but enough to help your team.

Star Boyd for Week 4 as a high-end WR3 or flex. We expect around six receptions for 65 yards and maybe even another touchdown with Chase getting more attention from the defense.
