CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Jacksonville
Even though the Bengals offense has struggled, Tyler Boyd has put up good numbers. Until last week. He was held to three receptions for a season-low 10 yards by the Ravens. We will call it an off day as Boyd is still the No. 1 receiver in Cincinnati and is still a fantasy threat.

The Bengals face the Jaguars next and Jacksonville is ranked 22nd in aFPA to wide receivers. Boyd's stock has dropped a little and even with a favorable matchup, he only ranks a high-end WR3 for Week 7 in standard leagues. However, he is a solid WR2 for PPR leagues as we expect the targets to be high even if the big plays aren't there.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Baltimore
Tyler Boyd exploded last Sunday with his best game of the season. He caught 10 passes to match his season-high and ended up with 123 yards and finally scored his first touchdown of the season.

Boyd will face the Ravens who are 26th in aFPA to wide receivers. Last season, he had 10 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown in the two meetings against Baltimore. He has had average numbers during his career against the Ravens overall.

For Week 6, Boyd rates a WR2 in standard leagues, but a WR1 for PPR leagues. He will get the targets and catches, but the yardage and lack of touchdowns keep his ranking down slightly.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Arizona
Tyler Boyd was shut down on Monday and limited to three receptions for 33 yards. He was only targeted a season-low six times in his hometown and appeared frustrated with the offense. Boyd is going to have to carry even more of the load with John Ross now out with injury and A.J. Green still out.

Boyd will face a Cardinals defense that is eighth in aFPA to wide receivers. It's not the best situation for the wide receiver as Arizona will gameplan with Boyd in mind.

The first thing that needs to happen is for QB Andy Dalton needs to look more Boyd's way. We think that will be a priority and the targets will rise. That should be enough to make Boyd a WR2 for Week 5.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Pittsburgh
Tyler Boyd is off to a good start averaging eight catches per game and already has a 100+ receiving yard game. He leads the team with 32 touches and is the No. 1 threat in the passing game. However, he is still looking for his first touchdown.

Boyd will return to his hometown to play the Steelers who are 25th in aFPA to wide receivers. He scored two touchdowns last year in the only game he played against them. The Steelers have struggled this year on defense so Boyd could be due for a big game.

Start Boyd as a low-end WR2 in standard leagues for Week 4. But rates much higher in PPR leagues (high-end WR2). The Steelers will probably key on Boyd and that will limit some of his effectiveness down the field but he will probably still get the ball a lot.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Buffalo
Although it wasn't a pretty day for the Bengals last Sunday, Tyler Boyd put up excellent numbers against San Fran. He caught 10 balls for 122 yards, however, he did not reach the end zone. Still, this is what we expect from him on a weekly basis with A.J. Green out.

Boyd will face a stiff Buffalo defense that ended 2018 ranked fifth in aFPA to wide receivers. The Bills defense is very good and will probably try to key on Boyd in the passing game.

It probably won't be an easy week for Boyd so his ranking slips for Week 3. He ranks a WR3 against the Bills. Expect the targets to be similar (around 10) as the first two weeks, but the production will be limited.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs San Francisco
Although Tyler Boyd was targeted 11 times, his fantasy numbers were modest with eight receptions for 60 yards. John Ross was the receiver that put up the big numbers for the Bengals. We still expect Boyd to be the No. 1 receiver while A.J. Green is out, so expect some big games ahead.

The Niners come to Cincy ranked 16th in aFPA to wide receivers. With a veteran quarterback, the Bengals passing game can be dangerous like it was last week.

Start Boyd for Week 2 but only as low-end WR2. He got the receptions last week but the lack of big plays hurt his overall fantasy numbers.

CIN WR Tyler Boyd - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Seattle
Tyler Boyd had a breakout 2018 season with 76 receptions for 1,028 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was the No. 1 receiver at end of last season in Cincinnati with A.J. Green out for four games and handled that role.

The Bengals head to Seattle where they take on a Seahawks defense that was 19th in aFPA to wide receivers in 2018. However, Seattle made some offseason moves that should make their defense better after a down year.

It's not easy to play in Seattle and we have a feeling the Bengals offense as a whole will struggle so even though Boyd will be ranked as a WR2 a lot this season, he only rates a high-end WR3 for Week 1. Start him as your third receiver or flex against the 'Hawks.
