Fantasy Upside
Tyler Lockett continued to show he is one of the more underrated receivers in the NFL and one of the better route-runners in 2020. The Seahawks rewarded Lockett with a new contract this offseason which included $37 million guaranteed. The highlight of 2020 for him was his 15-200-3 line in Week 7 against the Cardinals, his second game with three touchdown receptions. In total, he had 100 catches for 1,054 yards and ten touchdowns, so you know you'll get production from Lockett.
Fantasy Downside
Lockett was almost non-existent in the second half as Seattle's passing game was limited for more of a run-based approach. He had just three touchdowns from Week 8 and two of them came in Week 17 when most fantasy leagues were already wrapped up. Fantasy owners are just hoping for more consistency from Lockett in 2021.
2021 Bottom Line
The arrival of Shane Waldron ideally will help Russell Wilson cook again, which should boost Lockett and get him back to a consistent WR1/WR2 level. Seattle is also paying Lockett like they expect him to be a consistent, high-powered receiver ($17.3 million per year). Lockett is in the WR2/WR3 level with potential to get back to high-end WR2/low-end WR1 levels.
