Bears coach Matt Eberflus says "Tyson Bagent will be our starter." Calls Justin Fields doubtful for Sunday night's game at Chargers.

Fantasy Impact:

Bagent led the Bears to a win over the Raiders in what was a battle of backup QBs. Bagent was 21-of-29 but for just 162 yards, however he did have a 97.2 QB rating. He added a TD pass and wasn't intercepted, he even ran three times for 24 yards. The Chargers will likely be a harder task in Week 8. For now, Bagent is more of a deeper league, superflex option but it looks like he'll start Week 8 at least as Fields recovers from a thumb injury.

Matt Eberflus says QB Justin Fields won't practice today.

"Again, we still think he's doubtful for this week."

Tyson Bagent would start week 7 if Fields cannot.

Fantasy Impact:

Bagent, a UDFA out of DII Shepherd, could be in for a tough time against the Raiders defense. He should be avoided, along with most of the Bears offense, in Week 7.

Fantasy Impact:

Fields is dealing with a dislocated thumb. The post added there is no overall timetable for Fields to get back to action. Eberflus was quoted in the post as saying, "It's really going to come down to grip strength." Fields wasn't able to grip the ball with enough strength to return to the game in Week 6 after popping the thumb back into place.
