JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Houston Texans

It was a quiet week for Travis Etienne against a stout Titans run defense in Week 11. Etienne managed just 52 rushing yards and seven receiving yards on his way to 7.4 Half PPR points and the RB27 spot. He is still the RB7 in average points per game in 2023.

Better days are ahead for Etienne, starting with this week's clash with the Texans. The Texans are middle of the pack in terms of aFPA to running backs, ranking 18th in the league. Etienne should be viewed as a mid-tier RB1 in what promises to be an exciting clash between these two rivals.

Week 11 vs. Tennessee Titans

Week 10 was a rare bad day at the office for Travis Etienne this season. Etienne is the RB5 in average points per game in Half-PPR scoring this season with 17.3, but he could only manage 5.4 points against the 49ers. This was "good" for RB39 last week.

Etienne has a less-than-ideal matchup against the Titans as he looks to bounce back to form. The Titans rank fifth in aFPA to running backs this season. Still, Etienne's workload and opportunity share make him a player from which it is safe to project a good week's work. He's a mid-tier RB1 in Week 11.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Travis Etienne has been truly one of the NFL workhorses in 2023. He is commanding 64% of the Jaguars rushing attempts, while also seeing a healthy 13% target share. This workload has translated to 18.8 Half-PPR points per game and sees him sitting as the RB4 in points per game.

Etienne should remain firmly in the RB1 conversation despite a matchup with the vaunted 49ers defense. Despite the presence of several star names, the 49ers rank 16th in aFPA to running backs. If you have Etienne on your roster, you're starting him in Week 10 and beyond.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Another game, another two touchdowns for Travis Etienne in Week 7. Etienne scored twice for the third game in a row, becoming the first Jaguar back to achieve such a feat. These scores propped up his fantasy score after he only managed 53 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards, giving him 21.1 Half-PPR points for the week and a place as the RB4 for the week, matching his rank in points per game this season.

Etienne should be able to keep the good times rolling against the Steelers, who rank 22nd in aFPA to running backs this season. It's hard to pick Etienne to finish as anything other than a high-end RB1 in Week 8.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New Orleans Saints

Travis Etienne only managed 83 yards from scrimmage on 18 rushes and three receptions against the Colts, but he found the end zone twice for the second game in a row on his way to 21.8 Half-PPR points. Etienne finished as the RB2 in that format in Week 6, and his 17.5 points per game are good enough for RB5 overall numbers.

Etienne has 100+ yards from scrimmage in each of his last four games on the road and will hope to stretch that run to five against the Saints to keep the good times rolling for his fantasy managers. It won't be easy, as the Saints rank 11th in aFPA to running backs in 2023. But even so, it's hard not to think that Etienne will be in the top-12 mix come the end of the week.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Travis Etienne's 2023 breakout game occurred in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Etienne handled a season-high 26 rush attempts, earning 136 yards and scoring twice on the ground. He has only rushed for more yards in a single game once, and Sunday was his second career game with two rushing scores. Etienne also reeled in four catches for 48 yards on his way to 34.4 Half-PPR points, finishing as the overall RB1 in Week 5. He averages 16.6 Half PPR points per game in 2023, good for RB8 this season.

Etienne should be able to live up to RB1 status again in Week 6. The Jaguars take on a Colts side currently ranked 23rd in aFPA to running backs in 2023. 34 Half PPR points might be a bit much to ask for, but he should still be a solid top 12 option.

JAX RB Travis Etienne - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo Bills (London)

Travis Etienne was busy against the Falcons, carrying the ball 20 times and seeing three targets. But he turned his opportunities into 55 rushing yards and 17 through the air on his way to the RB22 in Week 4. Etienne ranks RB22 in Half-PPR scoring this season.

Etienne's workload keeps him in the RB1 conversation this week, as his matchup with the Bills is not an easy one. The Bills rank eighth in aFPA to running backs this season. A mid-range finish this week should be within his likely range of outcomes.
