SF RB Christian McCaffrey - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Seattle Seahawks

So much for Christian McCaffrey being eased back in. The 49ers let him loose in his season debut with 19 touches for 107 yards and played 56 out of 64 snaps. It took a while, but the man most of you drafted No. 1 overall is finally intact and ready to take you on a playoff push. For now, it's a Week 11 date with the Seahawks, the league's 26th-ranked rushing defense. McCaffrey is RB1 this week.

Week 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Christian McCaffrey is finally ready to raise the curtain on his 2024 season. After dealing with Achilles tendonitis since the preseason, McCaffrey was activated from injured reserve Saturday and will make his season debut against the Buccaneers. The question becomes will the 49ers limit McCaffrey early on. But even a limited McCaffrey can still pay dividends for fantasy purposes. Tampa Bay ranks 19th against the run at about 132 yards allowed per game. McCaffrey has already worked into the top ten in our running back rankings thanks to his big-play ability. He may be limited, but you drafted him high, if not No. 1 overall, for a reason.

Fantasy Upside

Is there any doubt on Christian McCaffrey at this point? What a season he had in 2023. He finished with over 100 points more (in half-PRR) than Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert (and Mostert tied McCaffey with 21 total touchdowns!). The 49ers' offense runs through McCaffrey. There's not much to say about McCaffrey. He's only 28, so age isn't a factor, he's healthy and he's explosive. He's RB1 and is in the conversation as the overall No. 1 player in drafts.

Week 17 at Washington Commanders

It’s hard to continue putting into words just how good Christian McCaffrey is. Even in an ugly game for the San Francisco offense on Monday night, he wound up with 131 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. McCaffrey looks like he’s going to eclipse 2,000 scrimmage yards by the end of the season and he has scored a staggering 21 touchdowns.

This week, McCaffrey has a great matchup against a Washington defense that ranks dead last in aFPA to opposing running backs. McCaffrey is a must-start every week, regardless of matchup, but with this opponent, the sky's the limit for his potential production. Keep him active as an elite fantasy option, and be happy you’ve been able to follow him to the fantasy championship.

SF RB Christian McCaffrey - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Christian McCaffrey had another monster game last week against the Cardinals. He ran for 115 yards and a touchdown, and he added 72 yards and two more touchdowns on five receptions. It’s incredible to me that a player of his caliber, who is a focal point for the defense every week, somehow still manages to get wide open. He’s a monster.

This week, McCaffrey has a tougher task against the Ravens, who rank second in aFPA to opposing running backs. Don’t expect nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns, but he’s as matchup proof as it gets. Keep him active as an elite fantasy option once again, and be pumped you have him on your roster.

SF RB Christian McCaffrey - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Arizona Cardinals

Christian McCaffrey had another nice game last week, running for 145 yards on 16 carries in a convincing victory over the Seahawks. McCaffrey had a touchdown vultured by Jordan Mason, but was otherwise once again the primary cog in the San Francisco rushing attack. He has 17 touchdowns this season and 1,614 yards from scrimmage.

This week, McCaffrey faces an Arizona defense that ranks 30th in aFPA to opposing running backs. Even if it wasn’t a great matchup, McCaffrey should be considered an elite fantasy option and active in all leagues every single week. The fact that he scored four touchdowns the last time he faced this defense is just icing on the cake. Congratulations if you have him on your roster.

SF RB Christian McCaffrey - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Christian McCaffrey had another great performance last week against the Eagles. Despite facing a stingy Philadelphia run defense, McCaffrey averaged 5.5 yards on 17 carries. He finished with 133 yards from scrimmage - including three receptions - and his 17th touchdown of the season. He’s playing like an MVP and has found the end zone at least once in all but one game this year.

This week, keep McCaffrey active against a Seattle defense that ranks 28th in aFPA to opposing running backs. He dominated this same defense a couple of weeks ago and is a must-start in every game where he suits up. Consider him an ultra-elite fantasy option once again.
