Chargers to activate TE Hayden Hurst ahead of TNF

The Chargers plan to activate TE Hayden Hurst from Injured Reserve to play in tonight’s game against the Broncos, source says.

Hurst went on IR with a hip injury in late November, but he’s practiced fully since having his window opened this week.

Fantasy Impact:

This puts a bit of a damper on Smartt as a streaming option in Week 16, as he should lose a little bit of usage to the vet. When (if) Dissly returns, he will likely also be off the radar as the situation gets a little too clogged up.

LAC TE Stone Smartt - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New England Patriots

Stone Smartt has looked solid filling in for Will Dissly, but the Chargers also mixed in Hayden Hurst coming off of injury last week. Smart is barely in the top 25 tight ends this week, so he's an option in TE premium leagues, but in standard leagues, you can look elsewhere. Even with a solid matchup against the Patriots, who are 26th aFPA against tight ends, he's not in starting consideration.
