SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at San Francisco 49ers

Jaxon Smith-Njigba comes off a bye week which followed a career day in Week 9, with 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This outing boosted his seasonal averages to the tune of WR26, with 11.2 points per game in Half-PPR formats. Smith-Njigba might see his role diminish slightly with the return of D.K. Metcalf, and the 49ers defense is not likely to provide many soft opportunities for either. They rank sixth in aFPA to wide receivers this season, but Smith-Njigba should still viewed as a viable WR3 option.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs Los Angeles Rams

Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to be exactly who we think is in fantasy terms, with a WR41 showing in Week 8 just a tick ahead of his WR45 rank in points per game this season. It’s not an easy matchup against the Rams, who rank ninth in aFPA to wide receivers, but it’s almost a safe bet that if you need WR4 numbers from Smith-Njigba, that’s probably what you’ll get.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Buffalo Bills

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has carved out a nice role for himself in the Seahawks offense that is doing absolutely nothing for anyone in fantasy football, with Smith-Njigba currently the WR49 in Half-PPR points per game.

Smith-Njigba might see a bump in targets this week, with D.K. Metcalf carrying an injury and likely missing Week 8. But the Bills are no mugs when it comes to defending fantasy wide receivers and rank 12th in aFPA allowed to wide outs this season. We have Smith-Njigba as our WR24 this week, and that is probably as good as it can get for now.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Atlanta Falcons

Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues to be a productive member of the Seahawks' offense, but this production is doing absolutely nothing translatable for fantasy purposes. Smith-Njigba finished with 7.8 Half-PPR points in Week 6, just enough for WR40 for the week. This matches his rank in fantasy points per game in 2024.

The Falcons do not present a formidable matchup for Smith-Njigba, ranking 17th in aFPA to wide receivers in 2024. But the nature of his role in the Seahawks' offense makes his ultimate ceiling feel so close to his fantasy floor. Smith-Njigba projects to be a low-end WR3 option in Week 7.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs San Francisco 49ers/strong>

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is posting 5.8 receptions and 51.4 receiving yards per game in 2024, which is a big improvement on his rookie year of 2023 but still not enough to move the needle in fantasy terms. Smith-Njigba averages just 9.2 Half-PPR points through five weeks, a tally exceeded by 42 other wide receivers. The big breakout fantasy game is yet to occur.

Smith-Njigba doesn't have a particularly daunting task in Week 6, with the 49ers ranking 14th in aFPA to wide receivers. But until he shows that he can be a fantasy force to be reckoned with, it's hard to project him as anything more than a very low-end WR3 option.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants/strong>

Jaxon Smith-Njigba saw a very healthy 12 targets against the Lions for his second game this season with double-digit looks. He converted these chances into eight grabs for 51 yards on his way to 9.1 Half PPR points, which was only enough for the WR40 last week. Smith-Njigba is averaging 8.8 points per game this season.

Unless something happens to D.K. Metcalf - and none of us want anything to happen to D.K. Metcalf - Smith-Njigba should continue to stay in his current role and earn the opportunities he is earning. This gives him a safe fantasy floor, but not much of a ceiling. Even in a matchup with a Giants team ranking 11th in aFPA to wide receivers, he should only be viewed as low-end WR3/high-end WR4.

SEA WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

Jaxon Smith-Njigba was quiet against the Dolphins, with just three catches for 39 yards on his way to 5.4 Half PPR points. He was the WR60 in Week 4.

The Week 4 game plan should call for more Seahawks pass attempts against the Lions, which is good news for Smith-Njigba and his fellow receivers. Expect a bounce back towards respectable WR3 numbers this week.
