FanDuel Week 13 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

Below I give my overall FanDuel cash game and tournament strategy thoughts and discuss how players fit into these strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

With the Steelers not playing on the main slate and no elite players in blatantly obvious matchups, owners shouldn’t feel compelled to jam some of the more expensive players into lineups this week.

Quarterback

After a bit of a breakout performance in Week 12 against the Steelers, Brett Hundley ($6,400) is the top value at his position against one of the worst all-around defenses in the league. Tampa Bay ranks outside the top 20 in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to every skill position except tight ends and has allowed the most passing yards per game this season. Green Bay’s 22.25 implied point total is their highest projected point total since Hundley became the starter.

It’s not completely necessary to pay down at quarterback this week, so those who don’t trust Hundley’s single good outing can go up to Philip Rivers ($8,000). The Chargers are favored by 13.5 and their 28-point total is their highest projection of the season. Cleveland ranks 28th in quarterback aFPA, allowing multiple passing touchdowns in three of their last four games and surrendering the highest red zone touchdown rate through the air this season. Over the last six weeks, only three quarterbacks are averaging more fantasy points per pass attempt than Rivers.

No quarterback has better odds of hitting cash game value this week than Tom Brady ($9,300). The Patriots are the only team projected to score over 28 points this week and Brady is the only quarterback averaging over 300 yards per game this season. Russell Wilson ($8,200) matches Brady’s cash odds and despite being a home dog with a projected total below 21, Wilson accounts for so much of the Seahawks' offense that he is still a serviceable play. Wilson has accounted for 26 of Seattle’s 27 touchdowns this season and no defense faces a higher passing rate inside the red zone than the Eagles.
