UPDATE: Deshaun Watson (ACL) is OUT. More updates coming soon.
With Deshaun Watson tearing his ACL, Dak Prescott, Drew Brees, and Russell Wilson now project to be our highest owned quarterbacks. The analysis remains the same.
Deshaun Watson projects as our highest-owned quarterback, while all others project slightly below him. The problem with Watson is he is very expensive on both sites, pushing almost $10,000 on FanDuel. Rostering Watson will severely handicap the rest of your roster, which is why I think there isn’t much risk in fading him. Historically, quarterback scoring is very condensed, and unless he drops 30+ points, you won’t be far behind.
Deshaun Watson ($9,600/$8,100) has seen his price skyrocket after his Week 8 performance. Price not considered, he’s the bestplayon the board against a Colts defense ranked 32nd in QB aFPA. Sadly, that’s not how DFS works. His high price tag will limit the skill positions you’re able to roster, therefore likely limiting the floor of the rest of your team. Despite his high price tag, Watson still ranks as a top-two value on both DraftKings and FanDuel for Week 9. He is sporting a league-best 9.3% touchdown rate, while the Colts are allowing teams to score on 44% of their drives, which is a league-high. Deciding to roster Watson will come down to how you approachrosterconstruction.
