NFL Preseason DFS Week 3 Breakdown: Friday and Early Saturday Slate
Friday's Week 3 Preseason NFL DFS slate is only a two-gamer, but oftentimes these are my favorite. As I mentioned yesterday, Week 3 is no longer the traditional dress rehearsal week. Certain coaches treat it as such, but many have transitioned to relying on joint practices to get their starters live reps. Let's dissect each of the four teams on this slate and what their plan is for playing time.
Update**— downgrading Winston and Chubb as beats are questioning their playing time.
Bills at Lions
Matt Patricia, for the third consecutive week, refuses to divulge to the media whether or not Matthew Stafford will suit up. I highly doubt he plays extended snaps if he does get in. I would expect sparse action from the main offensive starters as well, Kerryon Johnson, Marvin Jones, and Kenny Golladay. David Fales looked good last week so he could build off that momentum. Lions' reserve receivers could be used heavily as well, namely Brandon Powell, Andy Jones, Travis Fulgham. Ty Johnson is worth a shot at running back as well. Overall, Patricia's stubbornness in telling the media anything makes it difficult for us to evaluate this situation. Josh Johnson struggled last week in his debut with the Lions, but he may have gotten the confidence to play well in a full week of practice.
