DraftKings Week 5 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks
Below you'll find my Week 5 DraftKings cash game and tournament strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.
Update:
If you’re trying to jam in three studs at running back, Chase Daniel is a somewhat thin, but okay play at QB. In relief last year he threw for 250 yards and 1.5 touchdowns when Trubisky was out.
I also think WR Javon Wims is in play as well. With Taylor Gabriel out last week, Wims’ snaps bumped up to over 90%, the most of any offensive skill player. I still prefer Auden Tate however. KeeSean Johnson is now our top value on the board so he serves consideration with Kirk and Byrd’s combined 31% target share up for grabs
Main Slate Cash Game Strategy
Quarterback
Deshaun Watson ($6,700) is my favorite quarterback of the week if you can make room for his price tag. He gets a home matchup in which the Texans have an implied team total of 26.5. The Falcons have been worked by virtually every opponent they've faced including last week by Marcus Mariota. Watson has had two monster 30+ fantasy point outings and two duds of less than 15 points. The Falcons rank 22nd in adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) to the quarterback position. Kirk Cousins, Carson Wentz, Jacoby Brissett, and Mariota all looked efficient against this secondary. Keanu Neal is on the shelf, leaving a hole in the secondary for the deep threat Will Fuller to exploit. DeAndre Hopkins will be able to smash against the Falcons' secondary as well. This is shaping up for a get right spot for Watson and the Texans' offense. If you can find the salary for Watson, he won't disappoint.
